First audition of the season tomorrow.
The college's audition for both the musical and the play are tomorrow.
The musical is 'Violet' and the play is 'Speaking in Tongues'.
For the 'Violet' audition you need two 16 bar cuts.
I'm singing a cut from 'Feeling Good' by Anthony Newley and a cut from 'Don't It Make My Brown Eyes Blue' by Crystal Gayle.
For the 'Speaking in Tongues' audition I'm using a monologue from 'Reasons to be Pretty'.
There's no dance audition, so that is just wonderful. Because our dance auditions usually last 5 hours
and I still have to get ready for this coming weekend's auditions.
I still have no clue what to wear tomorrow night, but that's not a huge deal.
The audition this weekend is for the Central New York auditions.
It's an open call audition for 4 regional theaters.
It's the same form of the audition at the school, plus a dance call.
I think I'll use the same monologue and sing 'Feeling Good'.
But I need to pick an uptempo song. I want to use one that's crazy soprano-y.
I was gonna go with 'Glitter and be Gay', but I think that would come across as obnoxious.
So much stuff to do and I have no clue where to begin.
I still want to go to the Cider Mill Playhouse audition in Binghamton, they're doing 'Chicago' and I love that show.
Then I want to go to TriArts Sharon Playhouse with Chad, they're doing 'The Sound of Music', even though I probably wouldn't get a job there.
There is also a video audition for Tibbit's Opera House that I want to do.
So that's 7 Summer Stock auditions that I want to get done this semester.
Possibly going to NYC with Chad sometime too, and I'd try to find an audition while we were there too.
I am praying to God that I get a job, because I can not go back to hosting at a restaurant.
