Envelope tucked into the inside pocket of his suit jacket - pin stripe cause he appreciated the classics, Barnes ordered his men to stay with the car as he slicked a hand through his short hair and headed into the building. There were two places he never had to worry about one of his rivals coming after him; his villa and his lawyer’s office. Safest places in the world for him.
He didn’t bother stopping to check in with the receptionist, walking past her and into the back to follow the usual path he took to the double doors of Steve’s office. Again, not a moment’s pause to knock or try to hear if the lawyer was on the phone, stepping inside and shutting the door behind him. Ever so casually, he made his way over to the chair in front of the large desk and made himself comfortable.
“You know, I’m starting to think that I’m your only client. There’s never anyone else here.” A quick glance around the office before looking back to his old friend with a playful smirk curling his lips. “Don’t tell me I’m your cash cow, Rogers.”
