          There was a small voice at the back of his head wondering maybe Aleksei wouldn’t show up. They did talk a few days ago, but he was still a little worried. That night when Aidan told his brother about the engagement he was overjoyed to be able to share these amazing news with him, and Aidan wanted to spend this day with the people who he loved the most, Aleksei being one of the,. of course.

          When he noticed Aleksei among the people, he felt relieved, and he walked up to him right away. He pulled his brother’s smaller frame into a tight hug. “I’m so glad you came,” he confessed in a low voice. “Thank you,” Aidan let go of him and took a step back. “I hope you didn’t come alone,” he said with a smile, one brow slightly tilted in question. Aleksei never spoke of his love life, but when Aidan spoke about his feelings for Elise, he could see Aleksei’s eyes change, as if there was someone his heart yearned for.

          Something was bothering Aleksei, he knew his brother and he could sense it very well. It felt like they were back home again when Aidan came home from yet another assassination job, it was as if Aleksei hated him again. The progress they had made while in the capital city seemed to be lost, and he hated it. Especially now that he was about to marry, he wanted his family there so he could share his joy with them. It wouldn’t feel right having Aleksei hating his guts. Aidan gave him some space and time, but nothing had changed. So he knocked on his door. Once it was open, Aidan put his hand on the door so Aleksei wouldn’t be able to shut it in his face. “Please hear me out, just for a moment,” he pleaded. “I don’t know what I did to earn your dislike, whatever it is, I am very sorry and I hope you can forgive me. Or at least we could have a truce until the end of the wedding, I would really appreciate it.”

that  was  what  all  soldiers  were  fighting  for  after  all  ,  right  ?  to  end  the  war  and  find  peace  .  and  while  the  frey  siblings  are  not  at  war  ,  nor  are  they  at  peace  .  the  ground  beneath  their  feet  is  ever  shifting  as  they  face  the  world  ,  and  no  amount  of closing  ranks  upon  themselves  will  help  anything  .

          Chaos. There was chaos everywhere she looked. Ottolan soldiers managed to invade the Keep again and a massive fight broke out, Celia being one of those, who were fighting them off. It seemed to be worse than it was before when they attacked with real dragons. Screams, swords clanking, panic. But amidst all that Celia noticed an ottolan soldier fighting with a lady and kicking her to the ground. She saw him already raise his sword to attack, when she yelled. “Hey, dickface!!” she yelled and the man looked at her, confused. Celia took the opportunity to jump in front of the lady and deflect the man’s attack. “How DARE you attack someone that’s on the ground and worst of all - a lady!” Anger dripped from her words as she struck back with all her might, making the soldier take a step back. “That is rude! You have no manners at all!” Celia’s anger got even more fiery with each additional strike aiming at the soldier until she took her diamond form and delivered the last punch knocking him out cold.

          Of course Aleksei brought his trusty knives to a sword fight. Aidan shouldn’t be surprised seeing his brother suddenly pull out a knife and coming right at him. “This is cheating, we didn’t agree on this!” he laughed as he dodged and blocked Aleksei’s attacks. But he had to admit, he was good, even better than with a sword. It took some time, but Aidan noticed a tiny flaw in Aleksei’s movements, which he exploited and knocked his brother on his ass. A bit out of breath, Aidan gave his brother a hand to help him get up. “That was pretty good, actually. One thing though, I’d suggest you t—” he was cut short by a sudden weird feeling in his chest. It was like his heart slowed down for a moment, followed by a brief moment of weakness, and then it was gone. But so was something else. His powers. He couldn’t feel them. Aidan lifted his hand and looked at it, he tried to turn his hand into dragon’s claw, but he couldn’t. “Aleksei... Something is wrong,” he breathed, worry and growing panic clear in his voice.
