Mii Fandom

The biggest way the Mii fandom has changed since 2018 is that it doesn't feel fragmented in tiny pieces across the web anymore. Instead of love for a particular game (or just Mii databases in general), there's love for Miis in a holistic sense, something I always strive for. The other big change is people love CPU Miis, mostly from Wii Sports. I especially love when they're drawn in the default Switch Sports outfit because it's spanning so much history.

AAA I HAVE MORE CHAT CONCEPTS YES YES!! EVERYBODY CLAP, HEX FINALLY FIGURED OUT THE BASICS OF 3D FRAMES!!

Okay SO! this was a practice drawing, I was mostly trying to figure out how their proportions worked and got a little carried away with the excess of eyes. I think this is neat, but it's not QUITE chat, it's more just,, some demon. Still cool though!

Okie dokie!! Second try with the same skeleton, I wanted to test the concept of 'shadowy' tattoo/discolouration to see if it helped to add to the 'im a monster made of thousands' vibe I was aiming for. Turns out, no not really, I really think it was just. it was fun, and I liked putting all the detail on, but it still just looked like some imp (I might've been watching Hazbin Hotel during the drafting so uh. yeah that definitely bled into this one.)

I do actually like their patterns, especially on the satyr legs (almost regretting not adding them to my final work?) they make them look more spooky and monstery, but alas. I decided the pose, the proportions, and the excessive details weren't exactly right either.

Onto my FINAL draft, I spent all morning in this feller so I'm actually quite proud of it? I kept certain parts of the previous designs I've attempted for them, like that funky multi-eyed mask and the long ass tail, but everything else got changed up a bit to make them look cleaner.

Their 'hair' is probably some form of concentrated magic, similarly to their fetlocks and their big fluffy ears!! They definitely still have hundreds, if not thousands of eyes all over them, but they're hidden beneath their adventuring clothes (assumedly as to not cause fright while they travel), and I actually made their hat a bit smaller than I typically do because I thought it helped balance their posture a bit better?

Oh!! And their STAFF was so friggin fun to design, even if it's just. a vaguely purple stick with an orb. I think that orb is what allows them to maintain such a humanoid form as they are, and (I will post an updated lore dump in a bit so I don't just overload this with unnecessary information) if they lose that staff, or enter a magical dampening zone, they'd melt down into something more akin to my previous chat design!!
