Sxf M84 Review & Discussion
Sorry this week had been a bit rough, I had to postpone my thoughts on this until now. I want to eventually go through the past arcs too because I’m obsessed with this series and overanalyze every detail 😅
Anywho, for the time being let’s go over Mission 84!
Wow, Mission 84 felt so quick but that is because there was a lot of action going on!
Ok first, we open up where Fiona cornered Wheeler and demanded he hand over the docs and information he stole from WISE. Obviously, it’s not going to be that easy and Fiona is right to assume he might have memorized the information so WISE really needs to take him as well as the docs… in a best case scenario.
I love how cheeky Wheeler is. He sounds overly confident and a bit arrogant too. Similar to Twilight...
and these moves??!! Slick. I can see why twilight mentioned that Wheeler was an extremely talented agent. PLease don't get me started on those Arms, Endo I am not strong...
Anyways, even after wheeler essentially turned his situation around and grabbed the other wise agent as hostage, Fiona doesn't budge as expected. WISE agents are prepared to give their lives when they are compromised. This is the world of being a spy. They are disposable. Their main purpose is to ensure the mission is complete.
"I like cold-hearted women" ok new ship? WinFi? Cat/mouse game in this series? lol I can see the enemies to lovers HC's rolling with these two.
Anyways, Fiona's backup arrives and its that guy who is disguised (and STILL disguised) as Gascoigne (this is important to note later). Next couple of action scenes may be confusing to some but we see Wheeler in that instance shove his hostage toward Fiona and free himself from his restraints with the knife he stole from the hostage agent.
I'm at a limit with amount of pics to use but I thought it was really cool how he evades Fiona's shots and threw that knife with precision to hit the barrel of her gun to stop her. It felt like he gave her a wink and blew a kiss with that farewell when he made his escape. I'm telling you he's pretty cheeky. lol
HAHAHA Thank you Fiona for having wild delusions that feed us Twiyor Shippers. im DYING at "the love of my life just died" LMAOO
On a serious Note, Fiona is having a moment of resolution here. As a talented and accomplished spy, their mission is TOP priority. That means they should be willing and prepared to do anything to complete the mission even if it costs them their life.
HOWEVER, Fiona has been observing and supporting Twilight for a while now for Op: Strix. She has seen first-hand the changes in Twilight and, in a sense, mirroring the same deductive reasonings to complete their job and indulge in their personal emotions. The difference is that Twilight is in denial (or just locking his personal feelings as much as he can) whereas Fiona is WAYYY self-aware of her feelings lol
Okay, back to Yuri!Twilight. After beating the shit and sparing actual Yuri's life, Twilight needs to make an escape plan. It's hard for him to pinpoint the location of where the footsteps are coming from because of the echoes and sounds bouncing around the tunnel.
That almost got him bricked in the face.
Now here's where my earlier note comes in. Twilight doesn't know if Red Team made contact with Wheeler and so naturally he plays his character as Yuri to try and coerce him that he's part of the S.S.S., but Wheeler already should be suspicious since he saw that WISE had an agent disguised as Gascoigne... I think Wheeler was just trying to play mouse pretending to take the bait so he can hone in on Twilight.
He's clever.
Clever enough to catch Twilight off-guard.
It's also nice to know that Twilight really is their top agent whom only a few people know how his real face looks like. He wouldn't be the mysterious master of disguise if they did.
Next moment cuts to Fiona's arrival to the scene. She see's Yuri Briar beaten on the floor with Wheeler with full advantage. He's asking her "This guy a friend of yours?" (Also side note... I HIGHLY recommend reading Wheelers lines in a Russian Accent. MAkes it so much better)
Fiona is in shock because --How or WHY would Wheeler even suggest that Yuri Briar is her friend? She's never made contact with him plus he's from the S.S.S.? She is repeating "thats yuri briar" because it's suddenly dawning on her that it is Twilight in disguised as Yuri.
Wheeler helps her in that last thought by saying he's getting to the good part for the reveal but not before Fiona stomps the ground to grab his attention.
Then the chapter ends with a panel of Fiona going berserk mode.

Alright so now more personal thoughts.
First thing’s first. I kinda like the flirty back talk between wheeler and Fiona lol Come on Fiona, he’s kind of like your Twilight…ok maybe he’s from the enemy’s side HAHAHA jk jk I want to note how that one agent was SHOOK that Fiona had an “ounce” of humor in her stone-cold personality to be able to judge how cheeky Wheeler was being.🤣
As for Fiona’s whole delusional episode, I’m not annoyed by it nor surprised. Twilight has changed since meeting Anya and Yor; he may not admit it but he’s becoming more empathetic and compassionate in his actions. The way I see it, just as Yor and Anya have given Twilight that spark in character development (giving REDACTED a chance to live); Twilight is giving Fiona that same Spark as she sees this new Twilight that is developing and inspiring her too.
Think about it. He has shown her this back in M32. When Fiona was overdoing the tennis match and hurting herself in the process. His words ring LOUD in this moment:
“I’ve heard the same thing from a lot of dead comrades; When a spy loses their focus, they usually lose their life as well”
Back then, Fiona also questioned “but weren’t you also the one to teach me that all spies are expendable”
So why does he care? Spoiler alert: it’s cuz he found two girls waiting for him at home who’ve shown him how to love again
Twilight lost his focus this time and Fiona is there to save him but what will this bring for the next chapters? Will Fiona reiterate the same words he gave her from M32? Will she confront him about him losing his focus because of his attachment with Yor/Anya? She could be cold-hearted and bring the issue directly to WISE without Twilight’s input. I’m curious how this will turn out.
As for Wheeler, I’m not entirely sold that he beat Twilight that easily. Their fight was done off-screen… I’m only saying this because I’m comparing Twilights fight with Yuri in M83. In that fight, we saw how persistent Yuri was not only to show us Yuri’s endurance but also to showcase how much of a challenge he was to Twilight; we didn’t get that with Wheeler in this fight. We are just supposed to believe he got handled off screen?
Not saying Twilight is disguising as wheeler here but moreso I think Twilight is also playing the cat and wheeler is taking the bait. Maybe Twilight knew Fiona was going to show up and knew she would destroy him lmao 🤷🏻♀️ I can be wrong but that’s just a personal feeling I have with this. Pure Speculations of course.
Edited to add: If Twilight were to really be defeated, I’d like to see the fight actually happen to emphasize how dejected he is and use his pure will to survive for Anya/Yor. (Like Yor in the cruise arc) I DONT think this scenario is like that.
Regardless, Twilight isn’t doing too well recently 😬
WISE was able to get the files back but at this point, I don’t think they are going to be able to get Wheeler with those files. Won’t be the best case but a fair exchange for their circumstances.
I guess we will have to wait for another week to find out!
Thank you for reading this far 😅 I might edit to add more thought later but for now I think this is a good spot to stop :)
