Elizabeth Taylor had often stated that producer Mike Todd, her third husband (pictured above) was the love of her life. Married in 1957, their relationship was joyful but tragically cut short when Todd died in a plane crash in 1958. She married actor, Richard Burton, her fifth husband, twice, from 1964-1974 and 1975-1976. He was her greatest passion, and their intensely publicized love affair was made of an undeniable chemistry. She continued to love Burton after they divorced. Burton's brother reported that the couple talked of remarrying for a third time. Taylor is buried with the very last love letter Burton wrote her before his death in 1984. She kept his love letter by her bedside for 27 years until her death in 2011.
