The Purple Xperience

The Purple Xperience, a five-piece tribute band hailing from Minneapolis, Minnesota, has been zig-zagging around the country since February of 2011, bringing the memories of Prince and The Revolution to audiences of all generations. Led by Matt Fink (a/k/a Doctor Fink), a member of Prince and The Revolution from 1978 to 1991, The Purple Xperience leaves no one disappointed, and on this night at Bethesda Blues and Jazz supper club they again left no doubt on why they are who they are.

Led by Keyboardist, record producer, and songwriter Doctor Fink who won two Grammy Awards in 1985 for the motion picture soundtrack album for “Purple Rain”, in which he appeared. He received another Grammy in 1986 for the album “Parade: Music from the Motion Picture ‘Under the Cherry Moon’”, the eighth studio album by Prince and The Revolution. Matt also has two American Music Awards for “Purple Rain”, which has sold over 25 million copies worldwide since its release.

Marshall Charloff, front man for The Purple Xperience, imaginatively styles the magic of Prince’s talent in an uncannily unmatched fashion with his appearance, vocal imitation, and multi-instrumental capacity on guitar and piano.

Marshall Charloff taught himself to play the guitar at the age of 15 and later taught himself the piano, bass, and drums. On the national platform, he has played rooms all over the U.S including Las Vegas and L.A. In 2009, Marshall teamed up with Doctor Fink from Prince and the Revolution and Pepe Willie from the band 94 East to perform at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame benefit concert.

It was nothing short of a spectacular show as they had the audience dancing at there tables, in the small isles between the tables, singing along, clapping, cheering and finger popping. If you missed this show then sure did miss something FANTASTIC, and if they ever come back this way…… make no mistake about get yourself a ticket and be prepared to PARTY LIKE IT”S 1999……….

"Over the years, [Mike Ware's] antics have been the stuff of legend. A real crazy moment was when he was playing in Germany for Hanover Scorpions. A guy high-sticked him and knocked two of his teeth out. As the player went off the ice to the penalty Mike went for him and claimed he had done it on purpose, which, apparently, he hadn't. Next time he played against him he didn't tell any of his teammates what he was going to do, but in the warm-up he went straight over to the guy, high-sticked him and then proceeded to give him an absolute hammering. He knew there would be no cameras during the warm-up so realised it was his chance! Feeling pretty pleased with himself back in the dresing room, there was a knock of the door. When it opened there was a load of police officers waiting for him - just like a scene from SlapShot. As he was led away Mike was trying to protest his innocence! It was really calculating and that's what was scary. He had thought about it, where the cameras would be and carried it out. He recently said to me that he never got him as good as he should have! Mike is one of my best mates despite his craziness."

UPDATE - he's been found! Literally minutes after I initially made this post, I received word that he's in a hospital. No word as to condition, but at least he's found! We were truly fearing the worst. Thanks!! ~*~*~*~*~ A theatre friend is missing. Mike Ware was supposed to be at Milburn Stone Theatre in North East, Maryland for last night's performance of "Cabaret." (He is in the cast - I believe he resides in Delaware.) He never showed up - and this is NOT like Mike. He takes his involvement in community theatre very seriously and would never, ever do something like flake out of a show. From what I gather, last contact with him was via Facebook at around 3:00pm yesterday; nobody has seen/heard from him since, and efforts to contact him have been unanswered. I am unsure if he has kin around here. Please, share this around - I have a feeling that a missing person report will be filed very soon, and I will share those details when I get them, but in the meantime, please help us take this preliminary step by raising awareness. If you know/see Mike, please tell him to call the theatre. We are all very worried.
