   "You're late. It's well past closing     and I don't stay past closing Mike."

    There were many reasons for that, but most of all because     he had better things to be doing .  .  . like not being here.  It     wasn't like he hated the restaurant,  but at night time it was     somewhat disconcerting.

    Better the night guard than him.
