Jason asked as he dropped down into the chair next to Mikey, knowing the younger man, although not all that well. He was Livvy's younger brother, and he did know her, through being friends with his sisters, way back when. And now, of course. But maybe he could be his art buddy for the day, making some valentines. "Which would kind of ruin the fun."

Waiting for their next unsuspecting victim, Stelly found themselves wandering the fairgrounds, having one destination in mind: the giant pirate ship. When they saw Mikey walking nearby, they knew they had found their target. "Arr, matey!" Stelly shouted, jumping out towards Mikey from where they had been standing, brandishing the 'sword' that they had purchased from one of the nearby stands. "Do you want to come check out the pirate show with me?"

WHEN: July, 2024

"Mikey!" Elena exclaimed, recognizing him a few steps ahead of her down one of the main paths that wound its way through the makeshift carnival grounds. Perfect, the exact kind of person that she was hoping to run into at the carnival, where there was too much fun to be had. "Please tell me you're feeling adventurous enough to hop on a ride, everyone else keeps telling me that they're dangerous, but I keep eyeing them and thinking we should laugh in the face of danger… just once."

Jaz walked with purpose, cowboy hat in hand, over to where Mikey was sitting. She dropped the hat on his head and sat down next to him. "Hold this," she ordered (gently) as she handed over a crystal - definitely someone's necklace she borrowed and not from one of the chandeliers at the photo op. She held out her phone to take a few selfies of them, pulling faces she knew her brother would make. Talking at him while looking at the phone she said, "don't look at me like that, I'm helping you fill out your metaphorical wedding bingo card.”

CLOSED START FOR: @mikey-bennett​ LOCATION: town & country lanes, humboldt hills

While most of Benji and Mikey’s bro-time also doubled as a playdate for Olive and Connor, it was nice to ditch the kids with Katie and meet up to knock down a few pins, eat some wings, and drink some shitty light beer. In fact, given what was going on with the people in Benji’s life and Mikey’s, it was probably good there weren’t young ears around for them to air their grievances. “Y’know, man, I think I’d honestly rather take Sara in this case. ‘Cause Flo is on my last fucking nerve, man. And it’s like, she won’t see sense, y’know? And Katie’s telling me I overreacted. Like, if you had an inkling something was up with someone, you wouldn’t let them around Olive, right?” Benji ranted as he input their screens into the fuzzy graphics of the computer, watching as they were projected on the screens overhead the ball cannon.

@mikey-bennett​ Katie’s NYE Party

Scott wasn’t the type of guy well accustomed to time off. He was a busy-body by nature, always preferring to have a filled schedule. Still, there was something nice about having New Years Eve off, finding himself having to dress up and be the lucky plus one of Dani at a friend’s party. It felt normal, domestic, in a way he’d never had the chance to experience with Dani before. He was glad she had seemed to assimilated so well to life in Eureka, drafting her own friendships and creating a life for herself in their new hometown, however temporary. Scott liked to think that Eureka would be their home for quite some time, knowing that he had quite some time to kill as a Captain before any thoughts of promotions would ever reach the minds of his superior officers. While Scott was a typically ambitious person, he had no qualms biding his time, especially to get his home in order. Single officers rarely got ahead, which certainly provided emphasis to his intentions of trying to marry Dani.

As Scott meandered around Katie’s first floor, admiring the artwork that was clearing from her toddler on the fridge, Scott wondered when it might be that his own children’s creations would litter his family home. He hoped not too much longer. Peeling his eyes away from the fridge to return to his original intention of refilling his champagne flute, he’d find another hand already closing around the neck of his intended bottle. “Oh, sorry” Scott offered with a genial smile, stepping back so that the other man could help himself first. It only took Scott a moment to register who it was before him — after all, Dani had seemed to grow close to Mikey’s sister, Sara. “Mike, right? Scott.” He offered in greeting.
