It's been a not-great week, and I think the main reason is because I'm caught in a duck-bread cycle.
Basically, it's not good to feed bread to ducks because there's no real nutrition in it for them, and when they fill up on this easy access no-nutrition food instead of eating food that will sustain them they wind up malnourished. And that's been me lately :(
It's the thing of, like, "I'm hungry so I'll eat these chips," which is both tasty and good enough to satisfy my hunger at the time, but it doesn't give my body very much to work with in the long run. And so later when I'm hungry again I'm now additionally low on energy and low in mood. So I'm like, "fuck it I'll just eat more chips."
And the cycle continues and i end up not even enjoying the snack foods that were meant specifically to be enjoyed as a treat!!
So my strategy to exit the duck-bread cycle has been to snack while I cook for my later meal. While i eat a beignet with coffee.... i have just enough energy to cook veggies and a protein and put them into tupperware so that later when i'm hungry and tired and miserable there will be leafy greens, frozen mixed veggies, maybe some fish, and some grains ready to go which is also what can be safely fed to ducks if you're really compelled to do so and don't have duck feed.
