Everybody shut the fuck up, a restaurant's staff essentially adopted an elderly man who's been their twice-daily regular customer for a decade.
Everyone noticed when he didn't show up, so the chef himself went to the customer's house to check on him and ended up saving his life. While the man was recovering in the hospital, the restaurant employees visited him with his usual food order. They ended up getting the man an apartment literally next to the restaurant. They did a bit of work on the place, got him new appliances, and made a lit pathway for him. ;_;
Hey, fuck enemies-to-lovers. I hate enemies-to-lovers. Give me consequential strangers-to-devoted friends.
i can understand the trials but were the tribulations really necessary
Sometimes I think about this video my mom showed me of her brother's neighborhood where a bunch of the older people gather in like a public square to do their daily stretches & aerobics together, and I kind of wish that was more common around here.
"Mil, you know you can go to, like, any public park and exercise there if you want?"
The exercise is only a secondary benefit!! I have a treadmill and weights at home!! My primary focus in this activity is the community aspect.
"Then volunteer or something? There are so many free ways you can make friends if you really want to."
Not the point either! I'm talking about: From communal places to comfort zones: Familiar stranger encounters in everyday life as a form of belonging
As someone who is alone 98% of the time and really basks in that solitude for the most part, I would still find it fulfilling to have a place to drop in, be among people without being involved with them for a briefly set time, and then go back to my life as usual. Like, I remember a few years ago (?) I joined a hiking group for one day and was surprised to find that people wanted to chitchat with me. It was nice and I appreciated the gesture!! But also, truthfully, I was a little disappointed. I wanted to be in a group and QUIET and enjoy the hike.
Anyway, manifesting a regular open activity like that for me when i evolve enough to get to choose where I live. How nice would it be? Like, "Morning stretches are at X location at Y time. Come through or don't, but it will be held reliably by at least one person, and whoever else stops in."
me to myself: how come even when i push to maintain healthier habits i still struggle with low energy, focus, and motivation?
myself to me: because a little bit of exercise and sunshine doesn't cure disability or improve society's attitude towards disability you fucking stale meatball
me to myself: hm. i see.

Oh, right, I finished tapering off escitalopram about a business week ago. It's probably all cleared out of my body now. I should review my system notes and get to taking care of us step-by-step just like we prepared.
My favorite* part about the messaging from states trying to soften the blow of the soon-to-be implemented medicaid work requirements: "Hey. We know a few hundred thousand people are going to lose their health insurance coverage because of these new rules, but it won't happen all at once!"
???
*we laugh so we don't cry
please, god, take all the cars away and replace them with easy to access public transportation
or at the very least take me away to live in a walkable city where i dont need a car
I am a fool!
I was so focused on the air pressure and humidity, I completely forgot about withdrawal symptoms from stopping escitalopram earlier this week!! I took a piece of a pill last night and un-surprisingly I feel so much better now.
I did some research and messed around with a half-life calculator to plan a more specific tapering schedule. Hopefully that'll help with withdrawal symptoms going forward but i'm just BIG GUESSING.
i'm not a chemist or a psychiatrist or a GP or NP. Having seen some insane tapering schedules from people given by their GP, though, I think my plan is still well within safe boundaries. Also, I've been tapering for mONTHS at this point and this is just the final push from 1/4 pill to nothing that's giving me trouble (which is apparently a thing that a lot of people experience).
The main resource I looked at recommended liquid escitalopram for more controlled precise tapering at teeny tiny levels (like 1 mg at a time). Since i don't have access to that, I'm doing the best I can with an x-acto knife and gap days. :)
SIDE NOTE: I learned that weather websites have health risk forecasts!! In addition to allergen levels for all kinds of things, AccuWeather has forecasts for things like: Arthritis pain (moderate today where I'm at), Migraine, Cold & Flu, and Asthma.
They also have forecasts for, like, pest levels, whether it's a good time to travel, to go fishing, or garden and stuff like that.
Weather.com has similar info as well as health maps. For example, this Aches and Pains Index Map !! Information is out there, man.
i've been getting a lot of ads on instagram for trans tape and it's kind of piqued my interest BUT the thought of becoming reliant on this thing that i have to consistently spend money on and will make regular garbage annoys me. I want something that is reliably long-term mine, if that makes sense.
I'm not needing to bind completely flat; I don't wear binders anymore. The thing that interests me about trans tape is the combination support + freedom from feeling trapped in sports bras. I did start looking into front closure bras. Hoping to find one with maybe thinner straps. That would help with the suffocating feeling but i don't know if that will make it less supportive. :/
Wish i was a millionaire so i could just get a breast reduction. It's same day surgery!!
been slooowly weaning off my meds since around November and today i am totally done! goodbye escitalopram, i really enjoyed our time together. if i start going crazy in the future, then we might have to team up again.
i really hope not, though. not because i don't want to see you but because i hate our country's healthcare system and i'll do almost anything to avoid it :)
they sang the SHIT out of those adlibs
