Linocut
From the Doctrine of Labyrinths series
Do You Know This Disabled Character?
Mildmay from Doctrine of Labyrinths
I know them
I’ve heard of them
I don’t know them
Mildmay has various scarring and a permanently injured leg.
putting mildmay in my box of pathetic little men and shaking it aggressively
I started reading Doctrine of Labyrinths after seeing it mentioned in the TLT sub and here are my thoughts so far:
Overall the vibe is “dark 90s yaoi” (over-the-top Bad Ex Boyfriend with huge hands and all)
Wow, this book has a Harrow and a Gideon AND an Ianthe…?
Wow, this was just re-released for ebook LAST MONTH?
The Tumblr fandom for this is much larger than I expected, how have I never heard of this before?
When will the suffering END?
I need to read this entire thing as quickly as possible and then probably twice.
Just finished reading Wundersmith and my brain COULD NOT stop picturing Mildmay like:
Yea I have no explanation.
So in Wundersmith mildmay says how he could never let his best student Morrigan get kidnapped by the ghastly market
But I think that’s bullshit
How come he gets unit 919 to do a test at a ridiculous hour in the morning when barely anyone will be awake, puts Mog in a group with people who wouldn‘t be too worried or do too much at that point if she got in trouble, sends them to a location far away where nobody would think to find them and where Morrigan just happens to know one of those funny roads that teleports you somewhere else, and then when Mog goes down that road the bonesmen just happen to be there? Yeah I don’t think so.
Mildmay definitely planned all that so that Mog would get captured, but when it failed, he just didn’t want to try getting her kidnapped again because it would be too suspicious.
Then he says he’d never do such a thing because he wants it all to be covered up.
I just honestly feel like its all too convenient to just be a coincidence
its so hard do read wundersmith knownng what mildmay does in the end IN OTHER NEWS the scene with squall at the museam of stolen momwnts is such a good scene THE SINGING SQUALL ACTUALLY MAKING SENSE HES SUCH A GOOD ANTAGONIST
