The Thor and Loki scenes are what make that movie tolerable, but yeah, basically all of this. I missed Banagh’s influence a lot, and it feels like they forgot what made the first movie so good. I still seethe over Frigga, too.
you know what really made me the angriest beyond the whole fridging thing in general was that 1) they wouldn’t even let Loki out for the funeral and 2) he had to find out from some random guard, instead of Thor or punk ass Odin (god i hated him sfm in this movie. i didn’t like him in the first one but i could at least empathize with him and see his pov. in this one he was just a megadouche)

I agree with everything. I think that not bringing back Kenneth Branagh as director made it lose a lot of the feeling the first one had.
yeah like it’s really clear to me now that Kenneth Branagh was what made it so good. he knew how to get the human/emotional element in with the spectacle and i loved his take on the setting
