Recently I took part in a great exhibition showing posters of (*yet) non existing Serbian movies, and which only realization is actually only the poster itself and a short synopsis of the story!
My movie is dealing with cultural freedoms in Socialist Yugoslavia in the 60s, especially freedoms in popular culture and music industry. Lepi Flamingo ----> Pretty Flamingo is a story about Zlatija, I big fan of the upcoming and rising western trends of rock’n’roll music (which was at that time welcomed in Yugoslavia, unlike in other communist countries of that time) and her influence on the local upcoming bands and their choice of popular western songs.
Included on the exhibition is also the soundtrack for “Lepi Flamingo” which is a collection of famous songs from American and English performers and bands, translated and recorded by local bands in Serbo-Croat language:
