There are a billion Social Networks for desktop or mobile... and here are 4 more.
Like most social sites pics and vids are the main focal point in these 4. I actually found out about them via this Wired article about Flickr's engagement problems. Which is probably not gonna help since it just introduced me to 3 OTHER networks.
MlkShk - Seems to be a Tumblr clone ... or Tumblr lite.
Save, Share & Discover
Easily save images from everywhere on the web. The silly ones, the sweet ones. The cool ones. The gross ones. Then share them with your friends and family.
Likelihood that I will sign up: Maybe.
500px - Is like an exclusive Flickr just for your 'artsy' or supremely awesome photographs. If you want ideas for wallpapers or just really amazing looking HD photos, this is the place.
Show & tell.
See beautiful shots from all over the world — then add your own. Become part of a friendly and helpful community of professionals and enthusiasts. Beginner or expert, you’re welcome here.
Likelihood that I will sign up: Most Def.
Path - Mobile app available for iPhone & Android. This is what a FB Mobile app should be like. It has pretty much everything every mobile app has ever tried (FourSquare, Instagram and FB Timeline included) but with much better privacy options.
Path is the smart journal that helps you share life with the ones you love.
Likelihood that I will sign up: Meh - Yup. So I guess maybe.
The last of the 4 didn't come from that article. It came from the marketing barrage WWE (yes Wrestling) has dropped all over it's media entities. In fact it has such a major role in this launch, talent meeting include how to use the app and encourages it to the point of demanding they use it.
Tout - Mobile app (iPhone & Android) that lets you record 15 second videos.
Tout is a social media platform that allows users to shoot 15-second video status updates via smartphones and webcams. Touts are shared real-time and automatically to Tout.com, Twitter, Facebook, Pinterest, SMS and email contacts. Through Tout's reply feature, users can engage in Tout conversations.
Tout is breaking new ground by combining social networking with the power of video to deliver a revolutionary, conversational experience for users, celebrities, and brands.
Celebs they have a plenty - not just pretty much the entire WWE roster, but also Shaq Diesel, (Live with) Kelly Ripa, Jeff Probst and even Ryan Seacrest. Ironically their "about us" page lists celebs and brands like ESPN and CBS but no mention of WWE or any wrestlers save for The Rock .. who is now more Hollywood than wrestling associated now.
Likelihood that I will sign up: ahem ... in honor of Daniel Bryan - YES! YES! YES!
