This is my first ask, so if I did this wrong let me know please? (Also very nervous) But I wanted to make a request of Genji, Reaper, Widow, and Hanzo's reaction to seeing their s/o fighting for the enemy.
No sweat my duderino, u did fantastic. Tis I the Underling, and this is my first response so here’s to both of us m8 hope you like it!!!
Genji:
At first he’s horrified, and why wouldn’t he be? The love of his life is on the enemy’s team and he’s afraid (of what, he can’t really tell)
He’s immediately worried - why are they there, what happened to them, are they okay - with almost no regard to himself or his teammates
His worry is all-encompassing and not only does he avoid attacking you but also prevents his other teammates from taking shots
He tries to corner you, tries to talk to you and tries to get you to leave. He just wants for you to be safe and happy and fighting each other is practically the exact opposite.
When you refuse him, he’s devastated. He wants to protect you but he has a job to do - you’re making him choose between love and duty and he’s not sure the latter will win out
But he knows his obligations, and the love he has for you is no less stronger for his ultimate decision to help his team and he vows to get you out of this situation safely
After that he tries his best to incapacitate you and bring you out of there safely - if not soundly
Reaper:
He sees you from the corner of his eye and at first he thinks it was a mistake, a flicker of shadow, a trick of the light - how could you possibly be fighting for the enemy?
He comes to terms with it relatively easily - after all, if he could turn rogue to attack his once-friends, why couldn’t you?
That doesn’t mean he likes it - oh god no - he’s filled with sadness and rage that hasn’t been seen since the day he died
He hunts you down immediately, cornering you quickly and demanding and explanation. He wants to KNOW dammit - are you going to betray him too?
Even after all the shit’s that happened to him, he still thinks that this moment - when you tell him off, when you leave again to fight - this moment is the worst in his life.
But no one has ever accused Gabriel Reyes of being an idiot, an unobservant man, and he sees you taking non-lethal shots and avoiding some confrontations and thinks “there’s still a chance”
He’s risked a lot more on a small light of hope and there’s the chance of crashing and burning, of losing the last bit of humanity he has - but you, you’re worth that. You’re worthy fighting for. And that’s exactly what he’s going to do.
Widowmaker:
She almost headshots you before the figure in the scope becomes apparent and she jerks back at the last second
She’s confused - why the hell are you out here, this is a danger zone - and it takes a bit of watching to realize that you’re on the enemy’s side
Lord Almighty does she get angry. Upset with you yes, for not telling her of your intentions to join the enemy, but mainly at those assholes who somehow grabbed you from under her sight
She’s never the epitome of kindness and pity on the battle field, but she’d let one or two enemies slip by to play with later. Now though? Now she’s cold, hard, and merciless, gunning down everyone who enters her range. And don’t you know? No one can hide from her sight.
She’s quick and efficient and once all the enemies are dead she confronts you. “Why?” she asks and no amount of excuses or bullshitting can prevent her from getting the truth
And how could you resist her? You spill what your intentions were and she’s relieved that you did, that you still trust her enough to know, that you’re still not too far out of her reach
(But even if you were - if you had turned from their side, and joined the enemy’s - she would have followed you. She’s always been out of her depth when it comes to you, and she wouldn’t haven’t any other way.)
Hanzo:
To say he’s reluctant to believe it would be an understatement. He immediately calls foul play - that you’ve been coerced and manipulated - when you appear on the enemy’s team.
He still can’t help but feel betrayed though - for your actions yes, but mainly because you didn’t come to him for help
He wastes no time in getting to you - fuck the battle anyways, you were always more important to him than anything else - and asks, wants to know, wants to understand
He can’t though, even as you explain, he can’t understand why anything would have been enough to make you leave the team, to leave him. And it hurts. And he responds in kind.
He hunts you around with a single-minded intensity that has always had your pulse fluttering like a hummingbird’s wings - unlike other times though, this is from fear
It’s a delicate, dangerous game. He can’t bring himself to hurt you and you can’t bring yourself to harm him and it results in an elaborate dance that leaves him exhausted but hopeful.
Hanzo’s never felt worthy - of you, of his team, of his life - but he can’t leave you like this. There’s nothing in the world he loves so much as you, and he’ll be damned if anything will stop him from bringing you back to him. And if something does? Well, let’s just say there’d be nothing left to send down to hell.
