Swapped out our duvet cover and love how much it’s transformed our bedroom for the spring! Lighter, fresher, and feeling much closer to my style. #millayhomescenes ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I’ve been getting some questions lately about how I approach design and our home, and have to say it’s been a real learning curve into home ownership. This bedroom was a good example to me that you don’t always get it all right the first time. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I was going for a moodier, darker, saturated vibe and once it was all in, I realized that aesthetic just wasn’t me and doesn’t relax or energize me, which is so important in a bedroom of all spaces. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ So now I’m on a slow journey of tipping it back to my natural style - more neutrals and more light. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ The bedding, nightstands, lamps, and dresser make me so happy - and next on the list are a light fixture to replace the ceiling fan and an upholstered bed frame to replace this antique one to elevate the space a bit. Here she is: the grand reveal! Our kitchen is finished and I couldn't feel any luckier that this is my home and where I get to make meals! I do promise they're coming! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I can tell you that first thing is first...these counters from @adamostone are a dream come true and I'm so glad we went with real marble and a local family-owned business that let us pick exactly what parts of the stone slab we wanted to use. If I could make love to a counter, it would be this one and basically I don't think we can ever move now. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ On a more serious note: If you haven't watched 13th yet on Netflix, it should frankly be required watching. So much introspection and discussion has come out of watching that for my husband and I, and while I continue to share "pretty" snippets of my life here, I want to also remain vocal about how important it is to stay in tune with this important human rights movement.
