Ugh, I know the struggle. You have some options. 1) You write it in the notes. This works best if you have a concrete reference to a time or place, sort of the way I did with turning slowly (away from the moon). 2) Use the details as short, off hand references in quick succession infused into dialogue that sort of  relates to that topic. 3) Write it in anyway, but in this case you need to make sure you have the right kind of pacing going on at that time. 4) Omit & suffer

I think I’m going to leave it out but discuss it with whoever ends up betaing it, like ‘hey, about this bit, does it make any sense, y/n? if no, here’s some info, does that help, y/n? if yes, come back in a few days and I’ll have adding something’. HOPEFULLY that works

Severus heard a heavy thump at his door, and he stood up from his chair at the fireplace, rolling his eyes, hoping it was a student trying to pull a prank. 

He thrust the door open, ready to reign hell upon the student in question, but instead found Tabitha slumped onto the wall, her face bloody and bruised. 

“Merlin!” he exclaimed, pulling her up and leaning her on him as he led her inside, setting her down on the couch. 

He summoned healing potions and whipped his wand out, lowly saying healing spells. 

“What happened?” he asked, his blood boiling.

headcanon thingy: Although Severus is quite austere in his daily life, his bedroom is quite luxurious, with a large bed, with a soft mattress, covered with fluffy blankets and comfortable pillows.
