Written as a hungover, wake-up jam, The Rubens hope everyone will sing along and relate to the journey of self-exploration in “Million Man.”
The Rubens prove happiness doesn’t cost a thing in the new video for ‘Million Man,’ watching as the Aussie band joyously belt out the track on the streets of New York in the lead up to their upcoming album (due out 2018), following on from 2015's Hoops.
Keyboardist Elliott Margin says about the video (via Billboard):
‘We just wanted to do something that reflected the energy and fun of the song… The idea is we're in New York having the greatest time recording this record and hanging with these dudes (in the studio), so we felt like why don't we make a video that reflects that and how much fun we're having.’
The Rubens collaborated on their third album with Run The Jewels producer duo Wilder Zoby and Little Shalimar (aka Torbitt Schwartz) after befriending Run The Jewels’ EL-P at the 2013 Laneway Music festival, producing the track at The Rubens’ recording studio in Sydney. Hopefully we can expect a record full of party jams as upbeat as ‘Million Man’... (ﾉ◕ヮ◕)ﾉ*:･ﾟ✧
