Alex wasn't big on celebrating his birthday, unlike Lily. But he did enjoy taking himself out for a fancy brunch for it. He happened to be sitting outside when he saw Henry walking past. He raised a hand to greet him. "Henry! Guten Tag! Care to join in?"

Henry laughs sardonically as he twirls his pen his hand. “Yeah, I am but you are forgetting that I am not an official capital city, just a regional one so I have not much power outside Germany.”

“I happen to hold a lot of power, but meh, you know, too much work.” Shut up Koen. The Hague does all your work for you. “Official capital is me too, I just happen to not have to do much. Capital in name only, really. Because who knows any other Dutch city?” 

“Regional ain’t too shabby though. Berlin is alright. At least you have your festivals ‘n shit. You make a fuck ton of cash, right? That’s power right there.”

Of course she already knew the mistletoe was there. There’s the possibility she had even positioned herself just near it so that she wouldn’t appear to be waiting under it desperately, but should someone decide they wanted to take up the chance, they could. And here comes Henry, right on cue. No surprise. And no regrets from her either. She’s quite happy to let him pull her in for a lingering kiss. “Took you long enough to notice.”

Tut man nicht oft, eigentlich nie – oder doch selten – radelt man nachts im Regen durchs Millionendorf. Das wetterbedingt fast wie ausgestorben wirkt. Waren an den lauen Sommerabenden die Nächte vorher unzählige Menschen unterwegs treffe ich in dieser Regennacht kaum jemanden.
