One of the many reasons why I hate Marcillo is the fact that they. Got married.

Like, this kinda ruined mine whole perspective on the women's independence. I'm not saying that getting married is a bad thing, it can be a really wonderful thing for many, but I guess that the symbolism of it in the old times was basically for a women to go from the 'possession' of her father to her husband. And if you look at fairytales. The heroine, more times than not, ended with a man in the end. So, that's what makes a women happy and good?

And I love weddings, I think that there's no better way for two lovers to be happy till the end of their time, dont get me wrong, really, but also. Did Marcia took his last name? Well, if she did, thanks for suggestion Angie, but she didn't!

And Marcia absolutely deserves love and if Milo makes her happy... Well, Milo, keep doing what you do and love my girl! But also, WHY.

I think that the fact that Marcia got a lover in the very end, out of blue, was very forced and when I finally was under the impression that I need no man, that I can be awesome and strong and kind without one, no, my idol ends up getting married. Right in the end. So, no matter what, the ending's with a man? The happiness? And I don't mind Marcie finally having someone at all, I'm very happy for her, but then we should get more chemistry, no? More plot behind them and not just a hug and a date! Not just four scenes!

Please tell me your thoughts on this and tell me I'm not going insane.

Did I mention before that I really hate Marcillo?

And before Marcillo shippers come at me, I'm sorry, but it's not that I hate Milo. I mean, I don't exactly like him but he's not a bad person, I admit.

And maybe they even are a good match but I always thought that Milo is not. Good enough for Marcia, if you know what I mean.

Yes, he cares for her and all of this cheesy stuff but, if you belive that Marcia, Milo and Cerys knew each other before the Custodians era, she wasn't even his first choice. No, it was the crown princess. And my bby doesn't deserve being the second one. It just hurts to picture.

And who even is he, Milo Banda,to be both; husband of the Queen and later, the husband of the ExtraOrdinary Wizard (later ex-eow)? It just doesn't sit right with me.

Marcia, girl, you could do so much better, I'm sorry.

And I think it was kinda forced? I mean, it would be much easier to ship if they had more. Than. Three. Scenes. Together. Agh!

I want to see the little fluffy moments, I want backstory. Thats probs the biggest reason I can't ship it.

1. What made you ship it?

The moment she hugs him in Flyte, full stop. I was seven years old, reading it for the first time, and I still remember how wide my eyes went when I got to that scene. Even with little known about her at the time (only Magyk and Flyte were published then) I still knew she was such a person who didn’t do touch that when she was the one who instigated it??? She hugged him??? That was huge for me. I knew what that meant. Seven year old me was like they’re so getting married (and they did).

2. What are your favorite things about the ship?

I like that they’re similar but not the same, I think they complete each other very well. Milo grounds her, almost balances her, as this steady presence that isn’t going anywhere, even when he does. They have their own established lives but they still mesh together in a way that works for them and I really like that. Quiet, steady, and personal, that’s what I like about this ship.

3. Is there an unpopular opinion you have on your ship?

Majority of the time I see Marcilo written anywhere, Milo is usually portrayed as a cheater— either when they’re together in their twenties (leaving her for Cerys) or when they’re together in canon. Yet there is nothing to suggest he is one. I don’t count one out of character line in a sequel series where the majority of the original characters are out of character in some way as “proof” he is one, not when there is so much evidence proving he isn’t.

The fandom also seems pretty divided on whether or not they were actually together when they were younger. I think they were, and here is my unpopular opinion— Marcia was the one to end it, not Milo, and certainly not because he was cheating. Not because she didn’t love him (remember the hug!) but because she got in her head about it. Marcia makes assumptions about other people and then makes decisions based on those assumptions. She assumes he must want children, and since she doesn’t, it’s inevitable that this won’t work out and he’ll be the one to end it. Instead of communicating with him, she decides she already knows the answer and ends it so he doesn’t have to. My next unpopular opinion— Milo wouldn’t have ended it. He knew she didn’t want children and it wasn’t a dealbreaker for him. Her career would come first, always, and he was okay with that, because he was the same way.

Was just thinking abt how cerys is always referred to as cerys banda by fandom and idk if its canon but I was just thinking why the fuck would she take milo's name but. But. What if milo took her name. What if banda is the royal family's name and milo only became milo banda when he married cerys. What then huh
