@domanon:
Dom had taken the two in when their own families had abandoned them, left them with nothing. He’d raised them and taught them to always be grateful to him, reminding them they would have been lost without him. He was very controlling, keeping them under close watch, for their protection he told them. And they’d never disappointed him until today. When he’d called them for dinner and they hadn’t answered and he’d found their rooms empty. White hot anger burnt through him at their rebellion. Their betrayal. How could they do this? “Insolent girl!” He snapped at Sabrina as she spoke back to him, slapping her across the cheek, “he is right to apologise. You snuck out of this house, you defied and betrayed me. Normal? If it wasn’t for me you’d have died in the street.” This wasn’t what he had planned.
Milo flinched away from Sabrina's hand as Dom hit her, shrinking away from the confrontation as it happened. But, Sabrina doubled down. She glared up at Dom, planting her feet and standing at her full height in front of him. "You refuse to let us grow up! You won't let us drive or hang out... We wouldn't have to sneak around if you would let us leave! We're prisoners and you know it!" She was angry and she had been for some time. It was one thing while they were younger, but it was now glaringly obvious that they were becoming weird.
All the other students could freely commute, but Milo and Sabrina had their guardian constantly monitoring. They were dropped off and picked up with really only enough time for classes. They weren't having a college experience. Sabrina had been the one wanting to be normal, convincing Milo to go so he could talk to a girl he liked.
Milo stepped forward nervously, taking Sabrina's hand to keep her from hitting Dom back. "I-I... Please understand? We're just t-trying to be normal college students. We j-just... We just w-want to start hanging out with other students a-and driving." Sabrina nodded, stepping a bit in front of Milo to keep him out of slapping range. "We want freedom. You can't expect to keep us in the house forever. We're not children anymore. We were talking about living in the dorms next semester... If you still refuse to let us drive. Either way, we don't want to be driven to school anymore." Milo was clearly shocked by how much she'd told him. It was meant as an ultimatum, either they were given the freedom they wanted or they would simply move out.
