Flufftober Day 3 is up!!! This one features my Star Trek OCs Milrune and Tabok (and a surprise mention of Admiral Gutierrez!)

Fuck it, quick bios of my Star Trek OCs time

Milrune - A believed-to-be-human ensign in the science department. In reality, she’s a Nyxtorii, an alien race I made up, who lived w the believed last of her kind. They fled their home world in the Andromeda galaxy when the other race on the planet, the Vaerians, committed genocide against the Nyxtorii. Milrune is the heiress to the Nyxtorii throne but she doesn’t know that also the Nyxtorii have bioluminescence and they can produce magic light w their hands and see good in the dark but since Milrune’s disguised as human she can’t do this. She’s disguised as human bc the Vaerians followed them to the alpha quadrant

Tabok - Cardassian ensign in the science department. First Cardassian to join Starfleet. He always wanted to explore the universe and his family was shitty and was in cahoots w Gul Dukat, except for his mom, who died when the Dominion set fire to Cardassia. Him and Milrune become best friends and eventual lovers

OC Profile: Milrune Marshall

Name: Ensign Milrune Marshall, Monarch of the Nyxtorii

Species: Nyxtorii

Age: 23-24 physically, 39 total

Gender: Cisgender female

Sexuality: Demiromantic Demisexual

Appearance: In both human and Nyxtorii forms, she is about 5’4 in height and of average build, a bit on the slender side. She has periwinkle eyes, fair skin, and medium-long brown hair. In her Nyxtorii form, she has periwinkle bioluminescent markings on her face and body that glow gently in the dark and glow brighter when she is feeling strong emotions. Her eyes also glow.

Backstory: The Nyxtorii are from a planet called Reva (REE-va), far in the Delta Quadrant, almost in the Gamma Quadrant (it was originally in the Andromeda Galaxy but after seeing S4 of Discovery I think that’s a little too far and difficult to reach). Reva is in a locked orbit with its sun where one side is permanently facing the dark and the other side is permanently facing the sun. The Nyxtorii live on the side that’s permanently dark, while the other species on their planet, the Vaerians, live on the side that’s permanently light. Hybrids, non-conformist and exiled Nyxtorii and Vaerians, and immigrants from other planets live in the Ring, the city that divides the Nyxtorii from the Vaerians, that’s in the areas where it’s permanently sunrise or sunset. Both Nyxtorii and Vaeria are constitutional monarchies, while the Ring is a democracy.

The Nyxtorii royal family is made up of three components: the Sage, the Mage, and the Monarch. The Sage is the most intelligent Nyxtorii and the Mage is the most magically-gifted Nyxtorii (the magic is actually science but the Nyxtorii call it magic and storywise, it functions like magic). The Sage and Mage are selected by the current Monarch in a ritual, and then the Sage and Mage are to get married and procreate to create the next Monarch. The Monarch is essentially the king or queen of the Nyxtorii. This cycle has repeated for thousands of years.

Milrune was the future Monarch of the Nyxtorii. However, when she was sixteen, the Vaerians, along with another hostile species that I haven’t named yet, committed genocide against the Nyxtorii and laid waste to their side and people. Milrune’s parents, along with the old Monarch, were killed, and so was Milrune, but the Nyxtorii have an ability to regenerate once after they’ve died, essentially an extra life, as long as they’re put in a certain machine. A group of Nyxtorii fleeing Reva, including the old Monarch Emnai’s wife, Nole, were able to recover Milrune and get her into the machine in time, but the machine suffered damage and Milrune was regenerated into a newborn baby.

This group of refugees fled to the Federation, where they were given asylum. The Vaerians chased them, though, and to protect themselves, all the Nyxtorii refuges were genetically altered to look like humans (yes, illegal, but the Federation, or rather, a certain Admiral Alba Gutierrez, was willing to overlook and hide this), and they settled on Earth.

Milrune grew up human, although the other refuges, especially Nole, taught her about the Nyxtorii and about what had happened. However, she was never told that she was the new Monarch, and she wasn’t told about any of her previous life.

Eventually, she decided to join Starfleet, in order to see the universe. At first, Nole forbade her and they had a huge fight, but she, with the help of Admiral Gutierrez, applied anyways, and she was accepted. Nole begrudgingly let her enroll. At the Academy, she met Tabok Melor, and they quickly became close friends. When they graduated in 2389, they even were assigned to the same ship, the USS Indianapolis, led by Captain Harry Kim.

Personality: She is very curious and intelligent, which is what led her to want to join Starfleet as a science officer. She is also very strong-willed at times, as evidenced by her joining Starfleet despite Nole and a few Starfleet regulations forbidding her. This stubbornness of hers can sometimes lead her into dangerous situations, which other people usually have to drag her out of, much to her chagrin. In addition, she’s very independent and feels very uncomfortable dragging other people into things.

Hobbies/Interests: Astronomy, chess, old music and literature, and cats (she was never allowed to have one though)

Special abilities: As the Monarch, her magic abilities are stronger than the average Nyxtorii. Of course, she’s never been trained with it, due to her being human for her entire life.

ok ok so my two OCs Milrune and Tabok

They were originally part of Star Trek: Bound In Blood (my multifandom crossover story that was pretty much replaced by Town of Anywhere, I wrote the first chapter of it and like half of the detailed outline for the entire story, I’ve posted about it before and I posted character cards a long time ago) but honestly they could exist in the regular Star Trek universe
