It’s the start of the OcKissWeek! I’m going to post a drawing every day of my mushy, romantic babies, you have been warned.

Today I’m introducing Miltiades, or Milta (the tall woman in red sleevless) and Notus.

Miltiades is the daughter of a traveling merchant tribe. Sometimes they trade goods from the ports in the east, sometimes they act as hired guards.

Milta is a strong, tall woman - long dark braid, dark skin of the eastern shores. She wields a spear and works mostly as a bodyguard for the various Capital fat and rich merchants.

One day she finds the Sky People’s edge of the wood - a steep canyon, where the forest suddenly ends and a sharp drop to the river below begins. She only heard stories about them, but never witnessed their huge span of wings, their graceful ascent into the skies.

There, while she marvels at the flight of the groundless people - she meets Notus.

Notus is an abomination. She was born with baby wings, like all the other sky people. But her wings never grew past the age of 12.

Usually, the Sky People drop an undeveloped baby into the river below them.

Notus was lucky enough to escape that fate. Instead of death, she was sentenced to live as a pariah. They sent her far from the windy cliffs, where she grew and hoped to fly all her life.

An old woman, wings tinier than hers, shriveled and dusty in color, took her in. Together, they are to be the Sky’s priests - ones who can never fly but are still deemed useful by higher forces to be  their servants.

So Milta meets Notus, a tiny foal of a woman, with brown short curls and the brightest blue of eyes and wings.

Notus doesn’t shy away from the rugged woman, dressed in the merchants’ reds, a long spear and bow and knife strapped to her person.

Instead, she offered her blueberries, an innocent smile on her face.

Milta blinks at the slight woman, dressed in bright dancers' skirts, and can’t refuse.
