Another commission from the amazing @catmelot this time its for another original/fusion species for my Condensed Craft setting idea:
Meet a Mimiri, creations of the Vanir-Titan Mimiron!
Mimiri are essentially goblins and Gnomes fused into one species but not one faction, culture or ethnicity, IE, Mimir skin tons range from:
With the right side being seen among those who live in colder climates or areas with less sun and the latter seen in bright areas. The one used for this image was the central shade.
This decision was born of a few factors:
1: It turns out Blizzard wanted to make Goblins an Alliance species at the expense of Gnomes. 2: Despite being a long established part of the lore, Gnomes never got much exploration I liked. 3: Both species are short, nasally, super engineers with bright colorful hair-dos & the same build.
Long story short, there wasn't much distinguishing them from each other save one was green and the other cream. Especially because having species be a mono-culture irks me, so fusing them together means the Mimiri actually have more than one singular culture to their species. This also helps the Alliance feel a little less "Three types of human" and the Horde a little less "Where the green folk go."
In this regard, terms like Gnome & Goblin still exist, Mimiri is the scientific species name and not something most Sothern or Eastern Mimiri use for themselves, but some on Kalimdor might~
Anyway the Mimiri basically combine a mixture of recurring physical traits from their two parent species along with an emphasis on their shared traits like brightly colored hair and pronounced brows.
