It had been a long day. Cold weather and fall break approaching was making the kids listless - she was pretty sure she'd only had one student raise their hand willingly all day. And truthfully, with everything that had happened with Xander and his bride-to-be, Jo was having trouble focusing on the anatomy of a cell, too. Of course, she acted as peppy as ever, but it was a relief to finally get home and drop the act. She checked on her mother, first, as always. But once she knew her mom was alright, she headed up the stairs to the room they'd turned into Mina's makeshift art studio.
It was nothing compared to like what she'd had back in Seattle, Jo feared. But it would have to do, for now. She slipped into the room, sure Mina would be there, and approached her from behind. Her arm wrapped around Mina's waist and she pressed her lips to Mina's cheek. "Hi, babe," she murmured. She'd hardly seen her all day, but that was the problem with school starting at 7 AM. She turned her head to look at what Mina was working.
"Is this your new project? It's already beautiful." She let go of Mina's waist and took a step back to really look at it. "Have you gone out at all, or have you been working on this all day? You have to make sure you're getting some sunshine. I mean," She looked to the window and clicked her tongue, "as much as you can, anyway. Port Vale's just like Seattle that way, right?"
