If I were asked what I thought my future would look like two years ago, or further back, I don’t think I could have given a straight answer. I knew what I hoped for, but more than that, I knew what felt right at the time. I merely wanted to be away from the confusion of my present, and to have my feet on solid ground.
I never thought I’d have you.
My home.
My everything.
I met you had a confusing period in my life. I was still trying to figure out what to do with my life. If I should press forward and grab an opportunity with both hands, or back off and stay where it was safe. Even worse, my heart was being pulled in so many directions, yet there you were. Standing still, in my corner, giving me that smile I could never turn away from. You were like sunlight after a raging storm, and whiskey in a teacup. From the moment we first spoke, I knew we’d be damn good friends. I was right. What I hadn’t counted on was how hard I’d fall in love, and continue to over the years.
I try to say it all the time, but I’ll repeat it, now, thank you. Thank you for all that you do, whether I’m aware of it or not. Thank you for never giving up on me. Thank you for allowing me to be authenticly myself, tears and all. But most importantly, thank you for loving me so genuinely, and for letting me love you, too.
I made a promise to you in front of our loved ones, and whatever is up there listening to the deepest wishes on our hearts that I’d take care of you. I meant every word. Life is going to be hard. You’ve already experienced more than anyone could’ve imagined, but as your husband, I promise to make this next leg of the journey easier to endure. I’ll be your partner in crime. Your biggest cheerleader. Your punching bag when you need it. (And I hope you do. wink-wink. nudge-nudge) The safest place to land, and your fiercest protector. There are no words in any language to express how much I love you with every inch of my being. So, I’ll keep trying and hope that one day something will come close. Mrs. Mori, you've made the luckiest fucker on the planet. Sexy science now and forever, always. You and I, my Penny Lane.
Mahal na mahal kita.
