her hands were tied behind her back, bent over a table in the middle of the room. there was something medieval in the way they’d claimed what used to be her (now) late husband’s empire, one of the most famous night clubs of the bay — and it was turning into the theatre of their victory now, with her being displayed in front of dozens of strangers like a breeding mare. mina looked around, scared and somewhat desperate. once she locked eyes with what she believed to be the leader, she started pleading as best as she could. “please. you don’t have to do this. you can have all of my husband’s wealth just — let me go, i’ll give you anything”.
