Weird dreams are weird, dude
Let me premise this by saying that my dreams are usually very odd and don’t make much sense, and I don’t usually remember them in the morning.
This dream I had last night.
It came so far out of left field, I didn’t even know it was in the game.
Another premise: I don’t think I’ve seen any of the Iron Man movies but the first all the way through once, and partial of Iron Man 3 about three times over. Needless to say, I’m not really a big fan of Iron Man. He’s cool, but not my fav, you know? And the whole thing is being shown to me as a third party perspective. I’m essentially a character in my dream.
First of all, this dream went like a movie. It started off (and I can’t remember what all went down) with this exposition on how Stark got this fancy, red, hot rod car. My dream-logic brain said it was a gift from his father, that it was a replica/twin of this car Howard Stark owned. And with that out the way, the main part of this “mind cinema” begins.
So Tony Stark is driving this gorgeous red card down to the beach. He’s there to pick up his friend Rhodey (Rhodes, War Machine, I don’t really know his name, TBH), and so he makes a call through his sunglasses (or the car, I don’t remember which for sure). Rhodey emerges from under the water in full War Machine armor, totally chill about it.
Tony tells Rhodey to hurry up and stick the now-compressed armor into the trunk so they can get going before someone recognizes them. (After this, I and the new Wolverine-girl from the movie Logan fade in and out of existence in the back seats for a while.) So Rhodey slaps a navy blue baseball cap on his head and hops into the passenger side. Tony (teasingly?) says to keep it low over his face, so people might mistake him for Captain America. Rhodey just gives him this look and says he is NOT going to be mistaken for Captain America, no matter how you look at him.
Stark gets the car up this steep sand hill, and the next thing I know, we’re all in the air! The car flies, too! Tony guides the flying car to hug along these cliffs, but there’s some sort of rich people shindig going on at the cliffs, and they get spotted almost immediately. People take pictures and gossip. But Rhodey recognizes this one guy in the crowd they passed as a former doctor he used to see (unspecified), and he somehow knows that this guy is on the phone with HYDRA.
Now scared, Tony flies/drives the car into a parking garage. My memory of what happens next gets a little fuzzy, but the next thing I know, it’s just me and Rhodey in the parking garage, all by our lonesome and with no weapons. Rhodey, being a gentleman, begins to guide me over to the stairwell so we can get going on foot, but then HYDRA goons start popping up all over the place!
Rhodey tells me to run, I guess trying to be a distraction so I can get to shelter because HYDRA starts shooting at us instantly. But instead of just ducking into the stairwell to hide, I literally start bouncing off the walls rather than trying to tumble down the stairs to descend the suddenly really tall building -- like around 25 stories high. The kick here is that I’m supposedly a normal human being???????
I end up disabling two HYDRA agents making their way up (because stealing hair scrunchies from women takes away their ability to function???? while I still bounced off the walls to descend). But I soon realize it’ll only get harder from there as more HYDRA goons are sure to be waiting at the bottom and in between. So I actually bounce into one of the floors, catching HYDRA agents off guard while I grab one of their leaders to hold hostage. (Hello knife, where did you come from? You weren’t in my hand before!)
But the very last thing I remember from that dream, before my alarm woke me up, was telling that HYDRA “CEO”-guy that “Those are the rules, I don’t make them,” while I confiscated all these syringes full of knock-out serum/maybe poison from his person.
TDLR: I had a weird, cinematic style dream involving Tony Stark, his friend Rhodey, and HYDRA. I was not entirely human, I guess? And I got to ride in a flying car and be super badass. This is not normal for my dreams.
