not my usual kind of post but i think this is really cool

i stumbled upon this ARG on tiktok lately that poses itself as an investigation into a cancelled Wii peripheral called the Wii Reaffirmation System, and it's included software, Mind Master.

doing things like putting the videos into spectrograms and translating hexadecimal code into plain text, you can find various youtube and google drive links that explain what the system does and how it got scrapped.

currently we are on episode six, and just cracked a puzzle that produced a full report of how the device functions.

Darren had always been someone that relied heavily on routines. They gave him a little more sense of security, especially in a job and life that was filled with unpredictability. If there was one thing he inherited from his father it was the strive for rule and order, whether it be how neat he kept the apartment, or the meticulous notes he took while on a case, he was always at his best when he was able to organize his way through the chaos.

Which is probably why his current case is so damn frustrating. There are still too many holes and unanswered questions about this Judgement and Doppelganger thing for him to properly see through it. Part of it was his fault, because he was so close to learning about Doppelganger’s role in this thing- so close. Until a large white-haired villain seemed to know precisely which heart strings of his to pull, and divert him away from case and onto something else entirely. He doesn’t regret helping Lazarus, how could he, given what he was able to do for them, but that did little to fill in the missing pieces to this still largely unsolved puzzle.

That morning, after he showered and threw on a pot of coffee, he turns his attention to a small stretch of wall that sat on the outside side of his kitchen, facing the living room, and right next to the breakfast bar that opened the kitchen area to the living area. The wall had been painted with chalkboard paint by the previous tenant, who watched too much HGTV. He’d never had a use for it himself, that is until now.

By the time he hears Arya’s footsteps coming down from the hallway, he’s on his second cup of coffee that morning, and just finishing up writing out every name he had related to the case onto the wall. “Dr. Judgement, Lynx, Specter, Doppelganger, Reo??, Old Man”, were all listed up there, along with a couple bullet points of information between each name. 

“You know, I’ve kind of always wanted to make this into an evidence board,” he huffs a laugh before rubbing the chalk dust from his hands. “This is the first case I’ve ever worked on though where it felt necessary,”

Looking back towards Arya he shoots him a small smile before nodding his head towards the kitchen, “there’s coffee ready if you want any.”

ok, you guys, i did the thing. its been years. we saw tumblr through the content shift. i made 1k followers. I been drawing forever and ive made alot of games, but this stuff i post on tumblr is my heart and hobby. thank you
