hc. a mind meld can be a number of things to Spock , including being a very intimate experience. on a basic level , he can perform a surface meld to skim someone’s mind for information ( as seen in the ‘09 reboot ) and simpler emotions. to take that to the next level , Spock can connect more complex history with someone during a meld if he needs or chooses to. this is a more impactful transference ; a feeling , not unlike the filling of an empty space with color , warmth despite the cool palette of his mind, and being wholly surrounded. the closer he is with someone , the clearer the colors become - a perfect connection , akin to a vivid dream with varying levels of interaction. in some cases , he’s observing , others he’s taken the place of someone else , and occasionally, can even attempt to manipulate the events. regarding intimate affairs , a meld can take place during sex. by doing so , physical and emotional sensations such as lust can be impressed. when the connection is strong enough or incredibly passionate , it’s possible the climax of one or both people can be felt at the same time. alternatively , a mind meld can be used as a weapon ( ST:ID ) to incapacitate an enemy with a violent assault on their conscious. due to the nature of the attack and possible ramifications on the victim , it’s used as a last resort or in uncontrollable bouts of aggression.
