So, maybe you've seen this image floating around:

I looked into it, and it's from an ad in the February 1912 edition of The Nautilus [link to .pdf] [wikipedia: The Nautilus (magazine)]. The magazine appears to include a LOT of woo-woo self-help stuff.

But the "mind wanderer" is instantly recognizable as someone with ADHD. That's what caught my interest—because a while ago, I made basically the EXACT SAME THING as an attempt at explaining the experience:
