      He didn’t know where she had come from. She hadn’t       been there a moment before, and then suddenly they       had smacked into each other. For a moment he kept       balance, but, well, he’d never been the strongest, and       they’d run into each other with quite a bit of force. He       was, though, able to soften her fall, his own body taking       the brunt of the collision with the pavement. 

          As quickly as he could, he was back on his feet and            helping her stand, trying to make sure she was alright           and ignoring any of his own new aches and pains.           “Ma’am, are you alright?”
