Uncle Lando and Michael babysitting little Clara headcanons?

They could be the best babysitters

When she's still a baby, they adore walking around with her cuddled in their arms

Michael proudly goes around with her strapped into one of those across the chest holders, babbling at him as he does things

Lando always reads her to sleep, letting her hold his finger

They have a room for her in the house, so she always has a little home away from home

When she's older, they let her pick the colours for the wall and have some teddies for her

They do things with her like baking (michael), Lando has lots of pictures for Oliver and Savannah of Michael and Clara covered in flour

Lando does a lot of crafts with her, teaching her how to draw, and even letting her help design helmets that he proudly wears for Silverstone

He also plays age appropriate games with her, letting her sit in his lap and helping her hold the controller as she plays things like mario and minecraft

Clara loves spending time with them

They watch movies and take her on bike rides

Sure they let her have a little more candy than her parents, but she just likes trying to keep up with Lando when him and Michael do their workouts

They even get her her own little mat on which she mainly messes around on

Michael's favourite thing is babysitting her on friday's they have the weekends off for because he gets to watch Lando be confused by a like six year olds math homework

Does Daniel sit down with Lando and talk about him being used as Michael's excuse? I can imagine Dan feeling guilty for unknowingly being a part of the source of Lando's pain, and maybe the whole experience brings them closer? Like Dan starts understanding that Lando isn't deliberately standoffish he's just awkward and anxious

Yes!!! They 100% have a talk, a few of them actually. I did want a scene with Daniel and Lando talking about things but it felt too out of place and the fic was getting longer and longer so I cut it but it would have went along the lines of:

Them meeting at the MTC to talk

It's probably a month after everything, Lando taking time to heal, and Dan not wanting to pile on after everything

Dan is still on the outs with Michael over everything and working through it because he does feel guilty

He relied on Michael a lot, and feels that fed into Michael's own insecurities when it came to Lando and that's why Michael used Daniel

Lando is very awkward when they meet; he knows Daniel was frustrated about how things were, and he didn't make it better with his talking to the press

But the first thing Daniel does after asking about his recovery is apologise for his role in things

He tells Lando why Michael adopted that view as Michael only used the 'I don't want Dan to feel threatened/abandoned', and talks about how hard it was for him as a driver and person to separate his annoyance with RB for making him second seat

Lando understands, not fully because he never experienced that, but he can see why Michael twisted things in his own mind as 'I need to protect Dan',

He admits part of his awkwardness with Dan was a little part of him was bitter that he seemed to be the reason Michael was holding them back

Lando also explains it wasn't that he hated Dan, but that he was awkward, and change is something he always struggled with due to anxiety so Dan joining the team plus everything with Michael had him more anxious and awkward when it came to Daniel

It takes a while for them to get past everything

Their friendship starts slow; Dan bringing Lando hot chocolate , Lando finding australian snacks for Dan, hanging out at the MTC, and eventually they reach a place where they might not be bestfriends, but they joke around together and aren't stiff with each other

And that's how Lando knows about Michael's growth at the end, because Daniel towards the start of the season tells him how hard Michael has been working to better himself
