Maxine Mannheim - Assistant Director/Unit Production Manager/Assistant Camera

Biography - Maxine is a political writer and graduate student in Political Science at City University of New York. She is from Tucson, Arizona where she graduated with Bachelors of Arts in Philosophy, Politics, Economics, and Law in 2017. After teaching English in Poland, she moved to Phoenix, Arizona where she worked to develop educational programs with the International Refugee Committee as well as StreetLightUSA, a licensed therapeutic group for sex-trafficked minors. An aspiring documentary filmmaker, Maxine is grateful for the experience she had working with the incredibly talented team that created Mind Over Time. She is very proud of the film, and cannot wait to hear what the world thinks of this piece that was made with so much hard work and love.

Lining up a shot. Check out Domino’s rad lighting on this scene. Hard to get all the detail with this iPhone picture, but this is one of the most beautiful scenes in the film. She’s the best!

Lance Washington - Actor, Dr. Shomade

Biography - Chicago native Lando Chill (Lance Washington) is a poet, actor, and hip-hop musician untethered to a single genre, encompassing elements of funk, folk, reggae, and spoken word. First listens conjure visions of Outkast and the Roots; introspective lyrics that reflect on self sabotage, battling the ego, and the existential quest to find one’s purpose, painted across ethereal canvases made from synths, syncopated drums, and soul grooves. Now based in Los Angeles, Lando is releasing his next full length this upcoming August! He is queer/bisexual.

Domino Mannheim - Lighting Designer/Gaffer/2nd Asst. Camera

Biography - Domino is a freelance Lighting Designer from Tucson, Arizona. She graduated from the University of Arizona in 2017 with a BFA in Technical Theatre and Lighting Design. After moving to New York City and freelancing as an assistant and designer in theatre productions, she decided to get her Masters in the UK. This is Domino’s first participation in a film and hopefully not her last. She is grateful to have had the opportunity to work with such an amazing team and can’t wait for what the future for Mind Over Time holds!

Dani Damec - Costume and Makeup/2nd Asst. Dir./Grip

Biography - Dani Damec is a singer-songwriter and has been a member of the Tucson music scene for the better part of the last decade, working with several musicians across genres and performing all over Southern Arizona. She graduated from the University of Arizona with a major in French and Francophone Studies and a minor in Intercultural Studies.

As part of her Intercultural Studies, she spent years experimenting with societal interpretations of style and gender through her own personal expressions of both. Her love of personal expression through dress drove her to experiment with costume and makeup in cinema. The Mind Over Time production is her first time working on a film set. She is currently working on writing/recording music and becoming proficient in guitar, and is thankful for her extremely supportive family and friends for their continuous inspiration and push to accomplish her many dreams.

Dani's original song, Bittersweet (click here to listen) can be heard playing in the coffee shop during Mind Over Time. Dani is bisexual and listens to a lot of pop-punk.

Shooting a scene when it started to rain a little bit due to a sudden monsoon. The Isa and Tierney actually played off of this, showing their characters suddenly caught in the rain and the shot is used in the finished film. Maxine, our AD is probably worried about the schedule and how much more we have to film for the day.

In the desert at sunset. This represents about the halfway mark for this particular day of shooting almost exactly a year ago, in the middle of July. While the 100+ degree temperatures start to break at sunset, the result is a huge change in thermal winds. You can’t see it really in the pictures, but the winds we 30mph+ right around this time. Cast and crew were definitely troopers on this day!
