Mindcast.09 // Master Margherita - Live recording for Mindcast 01/2014 The new podcast in our series comes from the great MASTER MARGHERITA [https://soundcloud.com/mastermargherita], recorded live at a secret club in Barcelona on 08. December, 2013. Moreno Antognini is an accomplished musician and producer based in Switzerland. A founding member of the renowned organic band "The Peaking Goddess Collective", the electronic project "HoeHLE" and one of the managers of "Peak Records". He is known and appreciated worldwide for his bass playing, production skills, compiling taste, live performances and dj sets. Bathed in music for as long as he can remember, Master Margherita has been active in the European music scene since the late eighties, playing bass guitar in various rock’n'roll, jazz, funk, reggae and salsa bands. In 1994, he started composing tracks mixing live instruments with an array of electronic devices. This experimentation brought him deeper into the world of electronica and ambient soundscapes. Since then, his talent has been appreciated in many styles from French text songs, to experimental techno, ethnic grooves and reggae. Moreno has also produced music for theater plays, documentaries, fiction movies and multimedia performances, as well has performed in major festivals around the globe like Boom, Glade, Popkomm, Montreux Jazz Festival, Universo Parallelo and many more. He has released numerous chill and ambient tracks on well-known labels such as Peak Records, Interchill Records, Ministry of Sound, Mindwaves Music, Waveform and Mikelabella Records. Master Margherita has also released a number of collaborative works with artists such as Ajja, Cell, Greg Hunter, Cosmosis, Hibernation, Electrypnose, Flooting Grooves, Samuel Hall Band, Stéphan Blok, Léon Francioli and Palyrria. The Ebertbrothers are Axel and Michael Ebert, an artist/composer duo living and working in Berlin. They started to collaborate in 2006, first creating video art pieces, then moving more towards a combination of visual&sound performances, which is now their main focus. During a year of gigs throughout Europe in 2010 they refined and extended their sonic palette. “Susten Pass” showcases their broad range of composition skills, featuring both detailed, micro-edited studio tracks and raw, performance-inspired landscapes of sound. The album shifts between slow-motion sceneries (“Chrono”, “A perfect Fairytale” and “Commode”) and dark grinders like “Feature Film” and “Black String”. On the way it passes by electro-esque tracks like “Downrock Crooza” and “Risc Assembler” before taking a rest and having some beans&bacon at a lonely campfire (“Cowboy”). The album closes with the enthusiastic and shimmering “Susten Pass” and “Maitre du Village”. Track 14 is dedicated to the late Joe Papa from “Controlled Bleeding”. Mindcast.03 // Midori Hirano - Mindcast Mixtape 05/2013 We are stoked to present this month´s episode of the MINDCAST series, a diverse and entertaining mix of contemporary electronica, compiled by the talented female artist MIDORI HIRANO. Midori is a Japanese musician, composer, sound artist and producer, born in Kyoto and now based in Berlin. She has released two albums on Midi Creative/Noble (Japan) and an EP on Christopher Willits' Overlap (USA). Her second album “Klo:Youri” saw her further develop her sound, garnering critical acclaim from various medias of the world including TIME Magazine, BBC radio programs and such. In addition to her primary project as Midori Hirano which is based on acoustic instrumentation drawing melodic shapes and harmonies, she is doing another music project under the name of MimiCof, focusing on electronics and beat production, which extends her range of music. Under her MimiCof moniker, she has released two well-received albums “RundSkipper“ (2011) and “KotoLyra“ (2012) on PROGRESSIVE FOrM (Japan).
