god i'm so close on the MaryLisa thing and it has veered wayyyy into mindwipenatural, like further than I originally intended to go:
“I have memory problems,” Lisa said. She fiddled with her glass. “Just little stuff. Hasn’t happened in a while. Experts stumped, had all the scans and blood tests, and eventually I just dropped it. But I guess it’s back.” “Mom brain?” Mary asked. “I used to forget where my keys were and then find them in my other hand.” “No, old injury.” Lisa took a deep breath. She was a little drunk, yes, but mentally added ‘make an appointment about memory issues recurrence’ to her running to-do list. Other than that, it could wait. That’s what she learned from the amnesia in the first place. What was forgotten was forgotten, and she needed to live the life that she wanted now, not what an imaginary past version of herself wanted.
