brat summer was only 2 years ago but also three decades somehow
add me to your discord server so I can do the online equivalent of arriving at a party saying hi to the people I know then standing awkwardly in the corner for the rest of the night
i think the thought loop is going to save me this time
hey so i wrote a short reddit-style fic for Obsession (2025) called /r/OneWishWillow
the most difficult part is that i absolutely do not want to rewatch Obsession (2025) so there could technically be more entries in here but i am not up for rewatching the horror show

fucked that you can’t fix other people especially when you really care about them. Oh so im just supposed to be there for you while you suffer. like a useless cunt gargoyle
Is there a trope you hate to love? I mean like, it infuriates you, but you keep coming back to it anyway because it's useful, or more fun than you want to admit even to yourself, or it Just Keeps Happening? And then you're like, "Goddamn it, Author, you're better than this!" while writing down the cursed plot line?
I am not better than any trope. And I mean that so, so sincerely. Anything that I find fun or useful to write, I have affection for. On a more general level, I have completely rid myself of the language of "love to hate" or "guilty pleasure." Either I'm enjoying something or not. I don't feel bad about it.
HOWEVER: at this point, I feel like creating fake reddit posts might be a little too easy for me to write. They aren't challenging in the same way they used to be. Not that I'm better than them, but they feel like low-hanging fruit. I think at this point, I would love to move beyond doing it, but at the same time, its a fun way to interact with source material.

Is it weird that I feel like there's so much less to say than some of my other fics? If it's not Feel Bad, I think it gets its hooks into me less. But it's the lighthearted version of Feel Bad maybe? Who doesn't feel left out sometimes.
There's a version of this that was supposed to be really punchy, like more in line with pregnancy brain. It accidentally got into some weeds.
There's a lot of conflict resolution in here too, which I usually just throw up my hands and say, "oh well, this is unsolvable! everyone should inhabit a different corner of the earth and stay out of each other's way! or continue to make each other miserable until the eventual heat death of the universe!" But I'm growing and changing and maybe that doesn't always have to be the case.
The holding the hands under the table is inspired by something that happened to me in college. I knew these two people through my customer service job, and I think I thought they were friends? Roommates? (Oh my god they were roommates) Or maybe I just didn't think about it too hard. They were nice customers, we would joke around when they came in. Anyway, I went to a friend's birthday at a bar, and he says he needs to introduce me to a couple he knows, because they also like [thing my customer service job was centered around]. AND YES, it was the two people I'd never clocked as a couple, and YES they were holding hands under the table. Luckily, they were just as surprised to see me. They probably thought I lived at work for how much we saw each other. (unfortunately, they are not still together, but this was a long fucking time ago now.)
(this is not the only time I ran into customers outside of work. another incident involved me, my roommate, a bunny rabbit, and the guy that always came in high who turned out to also be my roommate's physics TA. the double take that guy and I gave each other is still happening in my head)
It feels like there's so many versions of Sam Knows or Sam Doesn't Know. I wanted to add an extra aspect, where it's like, Sam thinks h'e s the authority on Dean, but it's possible Dean (either because of or independent of the relationship) is just more comfortable with himself and ready to deviate from the typical "masculine" beverages.
It was originally referred to as the "drinks draft" in my notes.
oh shit i just realized the thing in my life i was solving when i wrote this while I was making myself lunch.

man sometimes friendship really is just "I saw this and knew it would give you psychic damage. please respond with agony" and then they do. and it's great
