NECROMANCER CHAPTER FOUR: THE FORETOLD NIGHTMARE.
The most recondite and dark that hides in Aot's mind. Distorted dictation of the event that marked his life forever, the death of his mother.
It was a dark and cold night, little Aot went to his room. Ready for his mother to tuck him in like she used to do every night. His mother had been acting weird for a while, she was more cold and distant, sometimes a little distracted.
"You are made to be better than everyone, to be above everyone." "You, my child, are made to govern."
It was what his mother had been saying to little Aot lately, on the other hand he didn't understand what his mother was referring to but Aot seemed to like what his mother said so she never questioned her.
As Aot got closer and closer to where his old room was supposed to be, Aot realized that several of his older siblings were around the room, both outside and inside it. Seti was talking to Akhenaten about something that Aot didn't understand and couldn't hear either, even Soser was with them and Meshkemet was also standing by the door with Khepri, Aot's little brother in her arms.
Aot approached the door to see clearly what was happening and it is something he regrets until now. The cold air ran through the entire body of the little prince as he saw the partially fresh trail of blood that stains the carpet in his room and his inert mother lying on the bed, her body covered by the sheets that were also stained with blood although it was not as well as on the carpet.
Aot fearfully approached her.
"Mommy?". Aot said as he approaches the body of his mother.
Aot hoped that by talking to her she would wake up and say something to him as usual but he was surprised that she didn't, which seemed to upset the little prince.
Already when Aot was at the foot of the bed, he gently shook his mother's arm.
"Mommy wake up, you said you would finish telling me the story of the prince who became king." Aot said as he continued to shake his mother although with a little more force.
"Mommy! Wake up!" Aot was starting to get frustrated at his mom's non-response, he hated when his mom wouldn't pay attention to him so he kept shaking his mom as hard as a 6 year old could.
The child's insistence was so great that he was able to turn his mother's body in his direction, which the little boy interpreted as that he had been able to wake up his mother.
"Mommy, why don't you answer-". Soon the little prince realized that his mother had not really woken up since she still had her eyes closed. But what terrified him was that a small river of dry blood ran from her mouth. Aot was taking his first medicine courses and at his young age he already knew that it was not right for blood to be outside the body, blood was supposed to be inside, not outside.
Aot looked at the blood on the sheets so he partially removed the sheets and was horrified to see his mother's clothes stained with blood. Aot began to panic and continued to shake his mother's body desperately.
"MOM WAKE UP, PLEASE WAKE UP!!"
The scandal apparently attracted the attention of his brothers. The four of them entered the room, Aot addressed them expecting a response from them.
"What's wrong with my mommy?" "Why doesn't she wake up?"
Meshkemet, Seti and Soser looked at the little prince with sadness or even embarrassment, Aot did not understand why he saw embarrassment on their face. The only one who seemed to have no feeling of empathy and who actually seemed to look at the boy with some contempt was Akhenaten.
Meshkemet approached the little boy, apparently with an answer that she had barely formulated.
"My boy, hhmm... Your mother... She-she passed away" meshkemet said seeing that it was useless to try to smooth the situation. On the other hand, Aot couldn't process what his sister told him.
"No!" that was the only thing the prince could say until he started to break down crying.
Meshkemet continued.
"She had been very ill lately, and in the end she didn't resist…" Meshkemet's voice began to crack a bit.
"But she was fine the morning..."
"But now she's dead now brat!" Akhenaten interrupted what seemed to startle Aot, who ran into meshkemet's arms.
Meshkemet just looked at her husband in a way that he could only interpret as 'shut up'.
The little prince's crying only intensified and he sought refuge in the arms of his sister who received him with open and compassionate arms.
So far the dream is relatively normal, until the scene suddenly changes.
Aot suddenly no longer feels the arms of his sister and when he opens his eyes he sees that the room he is in is extremely dark. The prince turns his head, there is no trace of his brothers anywhere, he turns his head again, this time towards the direction where his mother's body was but it wasn't there either.
Then and suddenly the room began to fill with a thick bright green smoke and voices calling his name began to echo in the room that was getting colder.
The voices kept calling his name louder and louder as the green smoke thickened. It was there that Aot among all the smoke could distinguish an orb-shaped figure that was loaded with the figure of a mummified-looking being whose gaze was directed towards the prince to reveal that it was his mummified mother. The voices had faded.
Aot's heart stopped, he felt his chest grow cold at the sight of the horrible scene, he was frozen when once again a voice resounded calling Aot by his name.
Aot woke up being shaken by inheret whose look reflected fear and concern.
"Hey, are you okay?" "Love wake up!" the guard exclaimed with concern.
"that?". "What's up?". Aot looked around him, it was already late morning, the first rays of the sun were peeking over the horizon and Aot could feel how his body was trembling, although not because of the cold.
"Why did you wake me up?!" exclaimed the prince trying not to look scared, something that was a sign of cowardice for a Kemetian man. Of course Aot wasn't doing a good job.
"I... I'm sorry, I just saw you shaking and crying and talking asleep, I was worried and didn't know what to do and-"
"It's okay, it's okay, it doesn't matter anymore." Aot interrupted trying to relax a bit.
"are you sure?". Inheret asked, he clearly wouldn't buy the prince's refusal. Aot just nodded, he was too tired to discuss it and inheret seemed to understand that.
The bells of the temple of the Great God of the Sun Ma'at began to ring through the city thus indicating the beginning of the day.
Both looked in the direction of the temple and wearily sighed, inheret stood up and Aot got up from his bed ready to fulfill his obligations as a prince, in a few days would begin the commemoration of Ankh, Kemetian God of life and prosperity and Aot being high priest of that god, he would be in charge of organizing the festival.

Chapter two: Harsh welcoming
Chapter three: Big trouble, little chattings
NECROMANCER|CHAPTER TWO: HARSH WELCOMING.
Scouts escorted Aot and Inheret back to the palace, both were silent. Inheret was a little nervous but Aot on the other hand seemed more than anything annoyed, not that he had been catch out but that he didn't feel like dealing with his neurotic brother today.
The great gates of the palace opened revealing its large and beautiful pillars that supported the great structure made of sand stone while large tiles adorned the floor. They continued to advance further into the interior of the palace, the tension could be felt more and more as they approached the meeting room where war campaigns were commonly planned and where a harsh welcoming awaited them.
The doors of the room opened, a large table prostrated itself in the center of the room and sitting on one of the chairs was him.
"We have arrived, Prince Akhenaten." One of the scouts said.
The man just sighed and stood up. His great muscles and cold gaze made him look very intimidating, his distinguished clothing of intense blue that marked him as the military head of the kingdom of Kemet.
"Leave Us Alone!" Akhenaten ordered with a stern tone without moving from his place and instantly the guards obeyed closing the doors of the hall in the process.
"Once more, once more doing what I supposed to tell you not to do, but apparently nothing enters that little head of yours".
"Why? Why so much effort to damage the image of our great family?" Akhenaten said dismayed by Aot's behavior.
"Ough, I don't 'damage' the family's image, they're just games, there's nothing wrong, we didn't do anything wrong! Aot said trying to excuse his behavior, and apparently this made Akhenaten annoyed even more
" you didn't do anything bad?! YOU DESTROYED A DAMN TEMPLE!!
"So what? It's not like it's of any importance to anyone-"
inheret interrupted Aot trying to prevent him from saying something that could make the situation worse.
"Excuse our irresponsability my prince, It was not our intention-" Inheret said trying to apologize.
"Save your words boy, I am not interested in listening to the poor excuses of an inept".
"Hey leave him alone, it's not like we had done something so bad, it was just a simple temple without any importance!".
If Akhenaten was angry before, now he was furious and grabbed Aot's face with force.
"I don't know why Father and Seti keep putting up with someone as mediocre and insignificant worm as you, but I'll tell you one thing, one day their mercy towards you will end and believe me I'll be very happy to get rid of both of you! PISS OFF!"
With that the short but very aggressive confrontation was over Aot and inheret left the room.
"Aot...".
"Save it honey," Aot said between sighs "I'll go to my room, take a break I'll see you later, okay?".
"are you sure? ".
"I just want to be alone for a moment."
With that they both said their goodbyes and went their separate ways. Aot was still upset as he went to his room, he didn't understand why he was punished for such insignificant things, nor did he understand why Akhenaten was so rude with him, although he had always been like that, since Aot was a child.
Arriving at his room Aot found his younger brother Khepri, who was lying on the floor playing with a small dung beetle. Aot disliked insects but seemed to tolerate them if it made his little brother happy.
"Hey…" Khepri said without taking his eyes off the bug.
"Hey" replied Aot who went to his bed.
"Damn, this time you got into trouble, didn't you?"
"It wasn't that bad."
"you collapsed a sacred sarcophagus, how is that not so serious?".
"It wasn't sacred!" Khepri just shook her head with a small smile on his face.
"well if you say so...".
Aot just frowned as he shook his head and looked up at the ceiling.
Everything was quiet and calm for a while until a small noise from the balcony seemed to draw the brothers' attention, Aot went to the balcony and without surprise or curiosity opened its doors to discover nothing more and nothing less than Inheret himself.
Aot couldn't understand why inheret kept doing that if he could easily walk through the door without any concern yet this seemed funny and cute to him.
"Well.. well…" Aot said unsurprised but still happy to see his beloved again.
"hey~ look what I got." Said inheret showing two cupcakes to Aot.
"oh... where did you get them?"
"From a cupboard inside the kitchen."
"*GASP* you're not allowed to be there."
"dejavu"
inheret just shrugged and directed one of the cupcakes to Aot for him to take.
"Didn't you happen to bring something for me?" Khepri asked who put the bug inside a glass box that he later placed in a nearby drawer.
Inheret just shook his head.
"hmm, sorry, I didn't know you'd be here... I'm really sorry."
"No problem with that" Aot said as he took his cupcake and cut it in half giving a part to his little brother who happily accepted his gift. They then ate their dessert while chatting amongst themselves until the sun finally set. It was then that Inheret changed her countenance to a more serious one.
"We need to talk..." Said inheret to Aot whom was not pleased about that...
