Dyes
Minecraft dyes
Concepts of new dyes for Minecraft. They can be crafted from other dyes or directly from materials.
playing around in minecraft and messing with dye colors :) (as of 1.7.2 , but probably works fro all the way to 1.7.9)
Farmable Minecraft Dyes White dye (bone meal) via mob farm Red dye via iron golem farm Green dye (cactus green) via cactus farm Brown dye (cocoa beans) via cocoa bean farm Black dye (squid ink) via squid farm Pink dye via Bone meal + Red dye Light Green dye via Bone meal + Cactus Green Gray dye via Bone meal + Squid ink Light Gray dye via Bone meal + Gray dye Non-Farmable Dyes Yellow dye via flowers Blue dye (lapis lazuli) via Lapis ore Light Blue dye via Lapis Lazuli + Cactus Green Cyan dye via Lapis Lazuli + Bone Meal or flowers Orange dye via Red dye + Yellow dye or flowers Purple dye via Red dye + Lapis Lazuli Magenta dye via Purple dye + Pink dye or flowers
I assume that Lapis will always remain an ore and a rare one at that, meaning that Light Blue, Cyan, Purple, and Magenta dye colors will never be farmable... but I wish that Yellow could be. Maybe make yellow flowers a mob drop of some kind like the red flower from iron golems? Maybe they should make yellow flowers a rare drop from iron golems? This would also make orange dye farmable (no need for the flowers), meaning that blue dye and the colors it creates would be the only hard to obtain dyes (despite Light Blue and Magenta being obtainable by flowers).
I guess you can sort of farm yellow flowers from just randomly bone mealing the ground, but I want a better way.
