#2831 - Coprosma crassifolia - Mikimiki 

ANOTHER species of Coprosma, and like half the other ones also called mingimingi or mikimiki.

This shrub is found on both islands, usually east of the ranges, except in Northland where it grows anywhere suitable. Common in coastal rocky and sandy lowland to lower montane shrubland and forest, up to about 600 m. The berry is translucent and holds a white seed spread by skinks and birds.

#2738 - Coprosma virescens - Mikimiki 

Named after the fruit, which is translucent enough to show the greenness of the seeds. Another Moa-proofed Coprosma with the same common name as some of the others.

Endemic to North and South Islands but very uncommon or entirely absent from large parts of its range. Found, where you can even find it, in lowland to lower montane forest and shrubland in well drained to poorly draining fertile soils, often overlying calcareous or alkaline igneous rocks.
