A little update to the minis I adopted from the @minibittyprotectionorganisation!
I took the Swap and Edge home. Though the Edge was trying his best to mask it, I knew he wanted some affection so I gently pulled them both to sit on my lap on the bus ride home, not minding the gazes of others as I placed their bed boxes at my feet, careful not to jostle them.
I gently talked to them, carefully getting a better feel of them and letting them get a better feel of me. I really want to make a good impression.
The swap seemed to be very open, his voice low with a gentle drawl. The edge seems to be more curt, but the changes in his voice helps in knowing the emotion and meaning behind his words.
I couldn’t help but feel their happiness, and I gently nuzzled them and smooched their heads. They both blushed, but the edge made a bigger deal that he didn’t want one, and he didn’t like it, but it was pretty easy to tell he loved the affection.
I asked how long they’ve been in the centre and they sort of didn’t answer straight. Only saying a while. I didn’t press further. I didn’t need to. They’re with me now, and I was already given a bit of their background. Thay was enough.
I mentioned about the edge’s collection of left socks. I asked him if he stole them because he wanted to be on the “right foot” with people.
I gotta commend him that he really tried. He really tried to not laugh. But he snickered and covered his mouth and he teleported into his bed box to avoid letting me see him lose it.
The swap commented that was the first time anyone made the edge laugh like that. He said I wasn’t too bad and that we’ll definitely get along.
Once we arrived back home, I let down their bed boxes and shifted them to a quiet space in the room near my bed.
I told them that it isn’t much, and a little messy, but it’s home. And it’s their home now, so yeah.
I could tell that it meant a lot to them to hear that.
I also asked if there were any names I should call them, since probably calling them Swap and Edge isn’t entirely creative, nor respectful. They said they used to have names, but they don’t use that anymore. They don’t even remember it now. I’m free to name them however I want. The edge threatened that I better make sure it’s good.
So that’s my main conundrum now. But they seem…really happy.
