Brooke approaches from behind Shadow quietly. She’s aware she probably can’t sneak up on him very well, but she still wants to try. Once she’s close enough, she leaps forward, wrapping her arms around his shoulders.
“Boo!” she greets, laughing.

Marceline drifts up alongside the small red person, offering a friendly smile. “You’re lookin’ a little lost. I’ve been here a while, maybe I can help you out?”
She found a nice park somewhere away from Sector 002, and she’s sitting by herself alone, staring blankly at the ground. Ryuko doesn’t usually succumb to feelings of loneliness, but lately they’ve gotten to be too much to keep buried. So for tonight, she’s going to let her emotions take over for a while.
For as much as she seems to enjoy talking herself up, and for as full of herself as she can seem most of the time... one might be surprised to see Marceline standing by herself with a handful of strawberries, nervously snacking away at them and watching the other people at the ball dance.

Brooke gasps at the girl who just landed before her--she hadn’t seen anyone with wings like those before! And then she turns her head and Brooke catches a glimpse of her face... and there’s a tingle of recognition, though Brooke has no idea why, as she’s certain she’s never seen her before.
“Your wings are gorgeous,” Brooke finally gushes, grinning as she approaches the other. “Have you always had wings, or is it new with this... change in scenery?”

“Alright! We’re overdue for a calm night just the two of us, so I’m making an executive decision.” Brooke takes Varian’s hand and gives a gentle tug with a smile. “You and I are going to bake some cupcakes and watch a movie tonight.”
