"A Sun-Filled Room" - The Warp/The Weft - Live at Mohawk Place, Buffalo, NY - 8/20/19
Today's Walking Photo: Sometimes, very late at night after playing a road gig in Redwood City, California, you’re walking back to your car and you discover that someone has taken a garden-variety orange traffic pylon and placed it over a decorative sidewalk light, creating a striking visual effect. It’s kind of cool, is it not?
Scenes from the Finding Feebus road tour July 2019
Played the Asbury Park Yacht Club (just off the boardwalk) on Thursday, the Station in Carrsboro NC on Friday but the set ended halfway through bc of a downed power line outside, so then Alejandro played Beatles covers and “Girl from Ipanema” until everyone went home.
Then Second Wind and an encore set at the Station on Saturday.... those sets were tons of fun, probably the tightest I’ve ever seen this band. A bunch of musicians were in town for the Merge festival that weekend, Veronica thinks she spotted Aimee Mann listening by the doorway!
And then we drove 10 hours back to New Jersey on Sunday...
I heard no one will watch vertical video, so these are horizontal! Go me!
All of these are going on the new album due out in October... Except “Wicked Game” which is a Chris Isaack cover with REALLY bad background singing courtesy of yours truly.
It’s never easy getting ready for a cycling adventure--even if it’s a test run.
So, here’s the deal, my name is Alex, and that there, in the picture, is Kyla. We married each other (we didn’t “get married” because that type of language implies it was sort of an accident, which was definitely not) in September of 2018. As Kyla is an 8th grade English teacher we had no time to go on a honeymoon directly after the wedding, so we postponed it about 9 months. Here we are. It’s April. The weather is turning from bad to almost-good, which is a legitimate type of weather in the PNW.
In anticipation for our trip, Kyla wanted to go on an adventure during her spring break from school. I work full time, so couldn’t go with her, but it was a wonderful excuse for her to get out on the road and do a little mini-tour by herself. The pic above is the night before she left, getting ready for her cycling trip around some of the San Juan islands.
