It was something that Gun never wanted to admit aloud. Times had been rough, the male had been on the brink of sinking to his lowest point, and then Roo walked into his life. Nothing but smiles and cheer when they were together, everything that he could ever want or ask for, and everything he'd never even thought to want before she bounced her way into his life and made herself home. To say that Gun adored her was an understatement, as their friendship developed and his feelings for her continued to fight their way to the surface, he'd all but devoted himself to bringing a smile on her face in any way that he could. If it meant making himself look like an idiot, so be it. If it meant being there to hold her when she was down, he was more than willing to be the one to brush her tears away.
The problem was he couldn't admit that to Roo herself. To admit how he felt was to open himself up to the harm that had dragged him so low in the first place, and no matter how much their bond and time together had helped to soothe his wounds, he was still raw around the edges. Still building himself back up, and getting back on his own two feet. If he were to admit how he felt and it ruined their friendship? ...It didn't go thinking about. He was content with the relationship they had now, safe, and not expecting a single thing from one another. It would protect the both of them this way -- or at least that's what he told himself.
Tonight they'd been watching movies together, the both of them sitting comfortably while surrounded by blankets and enough sweets to make both of their diets groan in defeat at the mere sight, and the sound of their laughter filling the room more often than not. While the sweets had been a good idea at the time, neither of them had been prepared for the sugar crash that came along with it, leaving Roo comfortably dozing against his arm as Gun fought to stay awake. Glancing down to the female resting so sweetly, lips parted ever so slightly as she dozed, gave a firm tug to his heartstrings. Slender fingers reached up to brush some of the hair from her face, curling it beneath the female's ear before his lips press a chaste kiss to the top of her head. For now it was all he could have, but if it meant that they could have small moments like these... Gun didn't mind in the slightest.
Instead of replying directly, she hums silently and smiles thankfully as the other lowers herself to a better level. “I’m doing fine these days, what about you?”
There's relief that she felt when hearing the other's woman reassuring words. Not that she had any sudden gut feelings that things weren't going as planned and what not. Naeun just had this tendency to be protective or worry too much over the latter. The corner of her lips softened the smile that was on her visage beforehand, "Good to know. Been well myself, just the busy schedule per usual. Nothing to complain about though."
