Tired but happy minitargs after a fun evening.

"Did you like your surprise, brother?" Aeggy asked shyly once they'd all laid there in silence for awhile.

He all but expected the usual 'hmmm' from minimond, but to his surprise minimond answered with a soft "Yes".

Now it was minigon's turn to get some of the candle smoke to his eyes.

Nyra could tell it was time to tuck them in comfortably and leave them to sleep.

"Do I look like uncle?" he wanted to know, to which everyone eagerly nodded.

Minimond thinks this may just be the best day he's ever had.

Miniela then lead Aeggy and minimond further into the party tent to show them all her hard work.

Minimond could not believe the feast laid out before him. There were sweet apple cakes and almonds, chocolate and salty pastries. The room was decorated with lights and all the beautiful dragons he so loved. And Vhagar was there too! He could feel tears welling up in his eye again, but clearly that was just the smoke from all the candles.

Mininyra had surprise gifts!

Minimond got super excited when he saw the leather bound tome. While simpler than the book Aeggy got for him from the Medieval market, this one contained Valyrian legends that Dragonstone maesters had copied and illuminated from the original tomes from Old Valyria.

Nyra also gifted minimond a large sapphire blue paper weight to hold his maps and books open. Aemond was over joyed and could not wait to read the new book.

(While no-one was watching, Syrax stole a piece of the cake for herself.)

After dinner it was time to play some games.

Aeggy got super excited after rolling a nat1 because he thought that meant he became 1st. However, minimond rolled a nat20 so miniela declared him the winner, to which minigon agreed. After all, this was minimond's big day. Minimond was most pleased.

But Baela and Nyra had something even better in store for minimond! Secretly they had convinced Daemon to gift minimond his old tournament shield. Cleaned and prepared, it most certainly made minimond do a little fan boy squeee internally.

Minimond is having a fan boy moment, he might need a minute.

There he is, my new and shiny boy! Pristine paint work, no falling-from-places damage yet :')

I'd tagged this with "I'm going to take so many silly pics with this toy!" and oh boy, that I have certainly done. Little Aemond had no idea what awaited him when I took him adventuring on his very 1st day.

Edit. Going through my old posts I realized I messed up the dates, the official arrival day was the 20th. (Either that or tumblr is doing something weird with the posting times) But we're going to ignore that and continue as if that didn't happen. (Brain, why you like this? 🥲)

On this day, one year ago, a package arrived which changed my life for the better in so many unexpected and wonderful ways.

Funko is not a company I really wanted to support, but I kept seeing people post pictures of their little Aemond over seeing their work and art making, and in my mind I could see all the fun photos I could take.

Until finally, after a particularly rough set of days, I decided to give myself the permission to buy a small plastic toy with the promise that it would not just be sitting on my shelf but I would actually go outside, visit places I'd wanted to see for a long time and as proof I would take photographs of the silly lill' figurine and hopefully bring joy to myself and a handful of other people too.

And look where we are now. A full year and dozens of photos later, minimond has visited museums and natural parks all over the country, and inspired me to stabbyneedle him a brother and a cousin to join his adventures.

And I do believe our adventures have brought joy not just to me but for other people too 💕

Minibrothers' Adventures: The Unintended Archipelago Trip

If it's raining in your intended picnic location, head out into the archipelago and behold, you get beautiful sunlight! minimond and minigon thought. And correct they were. As soon as we'd crossed the 1st bridge and taken a ferry to the outer islands of Pargas, the sun appeared.

Since our planned picnic adventure setting looked like this:

we were more than happy to be greeted by blue skies soon after leaving the mainland.

We made our 1st stop at Paraisten Portti. Minimond and Aeggy wanted to take a photo on the docks next to the ferry, but it was very windy and tiny princes are very prone to fall down.

In the end I held Aeggy's hand to support him and he in return held minimond from falling, and we managed to get the photograph.

Tiny dog Thor was of course most helpfully participating (and making sure he got his share of the snack break treats).

After some coffee (for the driver) and unexpected happy discoveries, we headed towards Nagu and the Archipelago Autumn Harvest fest.

Aeggy couldn't have been happier because this unplanned island tour was a sure way to keep minimond busy for a long time and give Nyra and Baela all the time they needed to finish up the decorations.
