I am absolutely exhausted, and I look like I've been tortured, which, not far off to be honest.
About a week ago, last Tuesday, I had a health scare. While going to get the door, my left arm completely just stopped working, and when I attempted to comment on this, I wasn't able because the entire left side of my face had gone numb.
It only lasted 20-30 seconds (I wasn't exactly timing it), but it was the scariest few seconds of my life. I immediately called the medical advice line (1177 for the Swedes) and the nurse I spoke to was adamant I get an ambulance to the ER as soon as possible. I was reluctant, thinking I felt fine and it probably wasn't that serious, but I did go.
Found out that I very likely had a minor stroke, was admitted for 24-hour observation, and subjected to numerous tests. Came home Wednesday evening with two new prescriptions that I have to take for the rest of my life (aspirin and something for the cholesterol) and bruises on my arms from where they attempted to insert the IV.
Then I got a call on Friday that I needed to be back at the hospital today (Monday) for a cardiac ultrasound (which is just a euphemism for torture, I know now) at 07:45 in the morning.
There is no purpose for me making this post, other than to vent. I feel like I've been put through an entire medieval torture chamber and I am going to need a week to recover. My sleep schedule was all messed up when I got home from the hospital and it's still adjusting back to normal.
