Ranboo walked up the pantheon steps, listening as his boots clicked against each marble platform as he made his way up. He was here to see a god. Here to ask for a gift- well not really a gift, he had been told by a wood spirit named Puffy that this god could help him… Help him get back his memories. Ranboo had been cursed to lose his memories for years now, and it was getting worse, which is why he was on this quest.
Once he reached the top of the stairway the massive fifty feet tall golden doors opened, but no one was on the other side. Ranboo didn't question it however, gods were strange and it was better not to waste their time. He walked past the huge doors, only looking back when they closed behind him.
Light finally filtered in from the roof to light up the room and reveal two figures in the back. One was about as tall as the golden doors behind Ranboo, they wore only a simple toga that did little to conceal them, they had two sets of arms and two sets of massive white wings, their skin practically glowed with small freckles littering across their body like stars- but their face was different, you could hardly see their face as a cloth wrapped around their eyes with two bloody spots leaking something red where their eyes would be… but Ranboo knew they could see him, he knew because around their head was two halos making an X, and all across both were rows of hundreds of green eyes. The dirty blonde god was draped across a large marble throne, and on the arm on the chair next to their large hand was another person. The second person looked like a mortal version of the god, longish dirty blonde hair, slightly tan skin covered in freckles, but what was different was they had no halos, and their eyes were still in their head- two emerald orbs embedded in skin, and under that was a mouth that was tightly sewn shut with golden with. It looked painful.
"Mortal" The god purred out, their voice booming around the room and making Ranboo fall to his knees. "What brings you to my abode?" They lazily waved their hand around, motioning to the entire pantheon; and showing off his golden bracelets.
Ranboo gulped and took a few deep breaths to calm himself before he spoke. "Dre- DreamXD-" He winced at how pathetic he sounded. "I- I have come to as- ask for a favor."
The god laughed, "A favor? Now why would I do anything for a pathetic mortal?"
"Please, Puf- Puffy sent me, she sa- said you could help." Ranboo looked up from the floor as he spoke and noticed how the mortal's eyes seemed to widen.
"Oh Puffy? Well I it's for her then I'll be happy to help-" Ranboo smiled as the god said this, excited to finally have his curse lifted- "BUT, you have to do something for me first."
"Ye- yes! Anything- I'll do anything!" Ranboo quickly answered, ignoring the way the other mortal in the room frantically shook his head. He doesn't know what Ranboo's been through.
"Good." The god smirked down at him, sitting up straighter as they prepared to make the deal. "You see, there is a creature of mine I used to keep here in the pantheon, just to toy with sometimes or watch it suffer- I'd even kill it just to watch it cry at revival." Ranboo winced in sympathy for whatever creature that had been, knowing that must have been a horrible life… "It got away though, kidnapped by the god of chaos. I need you to kill him and bring me back my pet~" After he spoke the other mortal in the room started doing sign language, trying to tell Ranboo something but he didn't understand.
"Bu- but I thought you were the god of cha-" Ranboo's question was cut off as the god burst into a loud cackle, sending a shiver down his spine.
"No, foolish little one, I'm the god of…." They started to muse, "Something else-" then slammed their hand over the mortal doppleganger, hiding whatever he'd been trying to sign to Ranboo. "Now, they have a garden, hidden off in the middle of the Midland tundras. That's where you'll find them."
"Bu- but how do I- I get there?" Ranboo asked, knowing it was a far way to tundras- honestly he wasn't even sure if he was in Midland, for all he knew he could be in the Primelands right now.
"Like this-" The god waved a hand and when Ranboo blinked he was now suddenly somewhere very cold and covered in snow.
"Oh, I'm here." He checked over his gear to make sure he still had everything before pulling a large coat out of his bag. This should keep him warm until he finds the garden.
Ranboo trekked through the snow for the rest of the day. Stopping only at night to set up camp in a cave, where he made a fire to stay warm as he slept. When the morning came he repacked his things and went back to walking through the snow. He only stopped once that entire day to eat some fish for lunch, and kept going extremely tired as he came across a cliff that somehow had vines growing on the side.
"This must be it…" The mortal said to himself as he approached the mysterious vines. Normally plants like this would die in a place so cold, so as he pulled the curtain aside he wasn't surprised to see a luscious garden filled with greenery and plants of all types.
In the center of the garden was a large rock, and atop it was a small satyr. His hair was a dark brown with bangs covering his eyes, his horns were small nubs and not even fully grown in yet, he wore a simple toga that covered most of his body apart from his goat legs. Next to the satyr was a minotaur whom they were talking with. The minotaur looked young like the satyr with smaller horns then what an older cow would have, he had blond fur covering his body and wore fabric from his waist down, reminding Ranboo of a skirt.
Ranboo quickly noticed how loud and unafraid the minotaur was… that must be him- he thought- that must be the god of chaos, and the satyr then has to be the person I'm saving for DreamXD. He walked closer and unsheathed his dark netherite sword, used to how it appeared as only a shadow due to how it was enchanted. The minotaur noticed him immediately and stopped his conversation with the bored looking satyr.
"I'm here to kill the god of chaos." Ranboo explained and raised his sword, his legs parting as he got into a fighting stance.
"Good luck with that bitch." The minotaur responded, before pulling out two staffs and lunging at Ranboo. The mortal quickly dodged and spun around, bringing his sword down on the minotaur. The half bull was quick to raise one staff to block the incoming blade before using the other to hit Ranboo in the stomach, knocking the wind out of him as the satyr clapped in the background.
The fight continued on, like a fast paced dance where both were equal matches. Hitting, blocking, dodging, all happening in time as if it were all choreographed for their audience of one's approval. Eventually though the minotaur became to tire out, and as their movements slowed Ranboo used that to his advantage- hitting them with his sword and watching as their blood spilled out… he didn't notice how their blood was red instead of gold and didn't care as he lunged his sword forward to finally plunge it's blade into the beast's stomach. Ranboo didn't have time to catch his breath as he was suddenly shoved to the side by the surprisingly strong satyr.
"TOMMY!!!!" They screamed as they fretted over the minotaur, and Ranboo looked down confused. Why would this satyr care about the person keeping them captive? "HOW FUCKING DARE YOU!" Then it hit Ranboo- literally as the satyr started to grow and backhanded him across the garden until he hit a stone wall.
He didn't kill the god of chaos- he killed their protector.
"HE WASN'T SUPPOSED TO DIE-" The satyr yelled as he continued to grow, much larger than DreamXD had been, and Ranboo realized it would be a good idea to hide. "I KNEW SOME FUCKING MORTAL WOULD DO THIS EVENTUALLY-" Ranboo ran as fast as he could in his tired state over to where a small crevice had formed from the cave starting to collapse. "AFTER ALL THE OTHER MORTALS XD SENT- FUCK I'M GONNA KILL HIM!!!" With that last angry shout, Ranboo watched as the giant god stomped out of the cave and through the snow, no doubt on their way to DreamXD's pantheon.
Ranboo winced as for the next few minutes he could still hear their booming footsteps, and even as the sound faded it never went away and no doubt destroyed everything in their path. The mortal rushed out of hiding when he thought it was safe and ran up to the minotaur. "Please still be alive please still be alive please still be alive-" Ranboo muttered to himself as he tried to feel for a pulse.
"He's still alive." Ranboo screamed and spun around as he heard the new voice, and saw a man with blonde hair, a green robe, and massive black wings behind him.
"Yeah, but he can't stop Tubbo like that-" Another more monotone voice came from beside them, and when Ranboo looked there was a taller man who looked almost like a pig with the boar head they wore with a red cloak.
"Who- who are you both?" The mortal asked, while backing up fearfully.
"Oh, I'm Phil the angel of death, and this is Technoblade the god of blood." The first winged man explained.
"Yooooo." The other man greeted.
"Alright, Techno you go hold Tubbo back while I make sure Tommy doesn't actually die." Phil instructed.
"Got it." Was all Technoblade responded before growing to about twenty feet tall, much smaller than DreamXD, and especially smaller than this Tubbo.
"Alright mate, I'm gonna need you to stand back okay?" Phil asked, and Ranboo was happy to comply as he scooted away, leaving plenty of room for the angel to sit on the ground next to Tommy.
Ranboo watched, fascinated, as Phil pulled rosemary out of his pocket and put it around Tommy's middle where he'd been stabbed, then started plucking his own feathers and adding them to the pattern. The angel then bowed his head over the minotaur, and Ranboo listened as he started to whisper a faint prayer- quiet enough that the mortal couldn't make out any of the words. Slowly the feathers and rosemary melted together and spread over Tommy's wound, before it all turned to smoke and began to float away- leaving behind a perfectly healed minotaur who looked like they'd never fought a day of their life.
"Thank you dear…" Phil whispered much louder now, and as those words left his lips Tommy's eyes opened.
"Mm fuck…" Tommy groaned and slowly sat up, while Ranboo went to hide behind Phil, grateful as they lifted a wing to help him. "Where's… wait- Phil? Where's Tubbo!?"
"He's fine mate, but he's probably about to end the world." Phil said it so casually that Ranboo felt like he had whiplash from trying to understand what they said.
"Oh… oh fuck shit- I gotta get out there, thanks Phil!!" Tommy shouted before running out of the cave.
"Anytime! Remember to tell people you're not the god of chaos next time!" Phil waved to the minotaur and they left then turned to Ranboo.
"Let me guess, you made a deal with DreamXD?" The angel asked, and all Ranboo could do was give a pathetic nod. "Ah hey, it's alright everybody falls for his tricks sometimes-"
"I- I didn't know this would happen-"
"Nobody does, now let's just wait for Tommy to calm Tubbo down then you can apologize, okay?" They gently ruffled Ranboo's hair with a hand.
Ranboo was a hero. Many tales told of him and his deeds- having served blood gods, angels, crazed tyrants, and many other beings that most people would fear- so doing a deed for a well respected king was something he would easily do.
The task was simple. Kill The Beast of Chaos. There were many tales of the best and how the ground shook and cracked in his wake, the dangerous fungus like explosions it could set off, and the extreme power that it held. It was no surprise that this king would ask Ranboo to kill it- for recently King Dream had lost something, or well, it had supposedly been stolen by the beast. The King met with the hero and offered him a simple deal- kill the beast, and the king would return his memories.
And so, the hero left, going off on a dangerous series of trials to reach the sanctuary where the beast slept. It was on a distant island, meaning Ranboo had to face one of his enimies, the god of water, as his first trial. Next, on the island was a large labrinth, one that held the sanctuary in the center and was full of puzzles and traps. (The trials aren't fleshed out because I can't think of anything for them :p)
Finally, when Ranboo opened the gates to the sanctuary, he was met with two creatures. A huge, loud, and overbearing minotaur... And a small, seemingly friendly satyr that was weaving flower crowns.
The minotaur was the first to step forward, holding a large axe to attack with. Ranboo immediately understood that the minotaur must have been the beast the king had spoken of, and the satyr- so helpless a creature- must have been kidnapped by it. He glared at the minotaur for doing such a thing and fought it valiuntly.
Once the minotaur was incapacitated- Ranboo was never comfortable with killing these things- he went to the satyr to bring it to freedom. Except... Something was different about the friendly creature. It now was glaring at the hero, and a powerful aura seemed to imminate from it- and as it stood Ranboo realized the horrible mistake he had made.
For the minotaur was never the beast of chaos, nor had it kidnapped or was even protecting the satyr. The satyr was the true being of power, and the minotaur had been holding it back... For who would use their full power when it could accidentally kill their best friend?
____________________________________________
So that's my idea for the basic story- and yeah, Tubbo is the Satyr of Chaos and as soon as he thinks Tommy (the minotaur) is dead he goes off to destroy humanity in his rampage. So Ranboo is stuck healing Tommy so the minotaur can actually go out and stop his friend from causing Earth's distruction-
But as soon as Tommy is better he litterally just has to go "TUBBO!!!!" and Tubbo will stop-
King Dream didn't actually loose anything as well- he just wanted to cause some chaos of his own and knew exactly how to do it
"For although the bull is strong it is his friend the goat that must be feared, as the bull's job is not to protect them, but to restrain the satyr of chaos himself"
