i’m so excited for everyone to get super dickiebrini-pilled during worlds. i need hockey canada to understand the social media goldmine they have with sam dickinson and milk him for all he’s worth. i need tons of clips of dickie and mack playfighting at every opportunity and mack’s whiny “dickie!!!!!!” whenever he loses, and the way dickie laughs and tucks mack under his arm and mack pouts like he’s still mad but everyone knows he’s all good once he’s pressed against someone’s side.

i need dickie, mack, minty, and kovie to play cards late at night in their hotel room and get lost on the streets of fribourg and make such a lowkey nuisance of themselves that jt has to play the captain/dad card and scold the kids to behave, and the second he leaves the room, mack swoons dreamily, and the others all groan and berate him for his taste in men because “dude, he’s old enough to be your dad!” and mack glaring back like “so? what does age have to do with anything? that’s discrimination!” and dickie nudging mack and reminding him, “hey, hey, i’m a week older than you, remember? that totally counts!”

i need canada dominating the tournament and dickie finally getting the recognition for his potential that he deserves (and not be known as just another horrible san jose blue liner) and for minty to score at least one game-winning goal and for mack to tackle him to the ice a la marty style in celebration. and i definitely need team canada to win gold, because goddamn it, i want to see mack crying tears of happiness instead of tears of sadness this time and avoid olympics-like heartbreak once again.

would it be wrong to admit i’m kinda into mintybrini this tourney 🫣 portermack is hot too don’t get me wrong and i’m sorry bedsy i don’t mean to steal your man, but minty has been so hot so far…. i mean “i’m strong so i don’t fall easy” and how articulate he was in making his argument compared to bratlin who went to bat for minty but is still a baby…. also them giggling at each other on the bench and before they get off the ice….. also the aspect of him playing for will’s favorite team so i imagine willmack sometimes watching bruins games together and mack blushing a little whenever minty gets in another fight because that’s HOT to him and especially when he’s friends with minty and will’s eye twitches because macklin you canNOT be serious, don’t tell me you actually have a thing for a guy named Fraser Minten wtf…. mintybrini hooking up in switzerland and swearing to keep it a secret because they don’t wanna hurt their crushes or make things messy when they train together during the summer, but then dickie accidentally lets it slip to will one day because he totally caught minty and mack sneaking around in their hotel….. ouuuuhhhh it’d just be such good drama since they’re friends who train together all the time so will would also be jealous All The Time

okay, so the “don’t tell me you actually have a crush on a guy named Fraser Minten wtf” part made me laugh out loud LMAO (his name isss a bit nerdy in a cute way, true) but omg anon you’re a genius!! this is so good and delicious and perfect, it’s now canon to me, i love it, your mind is made of gold

secret fling that accidentally becomes more is one of my favorite tropes. minty and mack both know it’s probably a bad idea, they’re both into other people, and their friend groups overlap way too much for things to truly be no strings attached. but then one night in a cozy swiss bar, they get a little drunk and giggly together, and they share a cab back their hotel and end up sleeping together. and they say it was a one time thing, but then it keeps happening throughout the entire tournament and they can’t seem to stop.

if it was just sex, that would be one thing. but mack can’t help but think about how easy it is, being around minty, and how well they get along. how much fun they’ve been having together, and the way minty plays with a passion and fire and love for the game that is so damn attractive in all of mack’s favorite hockey players, and it feels incredible to have minty on his side. and mack keeps telling himself that it means nothing, that they’re becoming even closer friends and everything is fine because he’s still in love with will and that probably won’t change, but then the tournament ends, and minty and mack both go back to vancouver, and somehow they still keep sleeping together, and so begins a wonderful, twisted love triangle that would make the cw channel proud
