Watching Beezlebub give such an amazing offer to Crowley if he were to hand Gabriel’s location over to them hits COMPLETELY different upon rewatch.

They’re like “I will let you back to Hell, promote you, give you a raise, if you get me the Archangel Gabriel.” and then the finale comes and we get hit with this:

“Well wherever he is, you find Gabriel for me, and you can have whatever your nasty little heart desires! You could be a Duke of Hell!”

Quite romantic now isn’t it?

“You hear anything about this, you come to me first yeah?” Is them being protective asf over Gabriel and worried about where he is and what will happen if Heaven gets to him first.

I think one of my favorite things in Fionna & Cake (2023) was the way that what girlfail delight, loser Fionna needed to feel alive wasn’t magic and wonder unfamiliar to her but just a strong sense of community and love from the people around her. When we start the show, her life feels to her and to us, the audience, as very drab and boring. Compare this to the end of the show when she’s back in her world and she is surrounded by friends and strangers helping to repair their world, fixing homes, working in community gardens. It’s much brighter, there’s inherent joy that was missing at the beginning.

Despite the existential dread brought about by discovering that she and everyone she knew and loved were created as a fanfic by some godlike personality and their world resided in some deeply mentally unwell man’s head, she finds love and joy in her previously “drab” world. No magic or crazy adventure needed. She’s pulled out of the dull life of a girl just working to make enough for rent and food and into a life that she can love and experience w her loved ones.

I love the jazzy enthusiasm of the first scenes of the Pluribus pilot. The scientific optimism, the joy of discovery, what a different take on the beginning of the apocalypse.

Sat close as I heard a person close to me that she didn’t like Superman’s parents in the movie because they’re supposed to be having raised SUPERMAN and be really hard workers and running a farm all by themselves but they’re obese!

And I was trying to interject but my jaw had dropped so far down I genuinely didn’t know what to say. “That’s part of what’s so great, they’re just normal folks you’d see at the grocery!”

“But they’re not normal they’re obese”

Sorry for the negativity, the online response to the casting of ma and pa Kent in has been so overwhelmingly positive that hearing someone I know have such a polar opposite opinion really threw me off.

So many of those angsty self-centered vamps could have really quite liked Claudia if they’d just gotten over themselves for a moment long to get to know her a bit. And that is just another smaller aspect of the tragedy that is Claudia. She was vicious, she was a beast, and she wanted a community or at LEAST a friend. And the only person who ever actually took that time and made that decision to know her and eventually to love her, was Madeleine, and then that got taken away too. But at least they got to die together. Or something lmao what am I supposed to say

So surreal seeing the thesis of my most recent school paper(and planned future papers) be up and said out loud in a big theatre. “Maybe that’s the real punk rock”

Guys I made a zine. I wrote a 7 page paper about this. In a world where violence and hatred are the norm, to be punk is to be kind.

Pruitt, deep in regret, telling his daughter who he was to her. Telling her to run and then having to crouch over her with Mildred and watch the life leave her eyes as she gurgled up and spit out his last effort to save her. Letting his anger over come him and attacking a man. They’ve all already been “saved” so it doesn’t make any difference. Then him walking with the only woman he loved and carrying the daughter he never really got to know. Crying and crying with her with Sara across their laps, lifeless.

But him tearing out that stupid piece of paper from his collar, aughhh. It didn’t mean anything anymore. In his last moments, just before his death, the death he chose to share with Mildred, he throws away the thing that kept them separate all that time.

Now, just a mother and a father and daughter waiting for the sun to rise. None of them alive to see it, not really.
